You kids did a great job with the early city hall protests and the megamarch. HR 4437 is an affront to every Amercian who believes in the constitution. Action had to be taken and you kids did the right thing. Thanks for making an old dude feel so welcome on Sunday too.
A few pics from the march up on my blog. What an absolutely incredible experience. On the train ride home, a guy was playing "Star Spangled Banner" on his harmonica. Nothing could have showed what America SHOULD be all about better than all of us, unified, standing up against bigotry. It was an honor to be part of something so beautiful.

Hello thanks for the add. Remember if you can not make the march, please register to vote. My sincere advice before voting is to gain knowledge on how your vote counts and why it is vital to have the privilege to vote in this country. Many people have fought for our freedom to gain the right to vote, take advantage of it. Be wise to know the facts, gain the knowledge. Know what each party stands for, gain a better perspective. Get a better understanding of what it means to you to have a voice to vote.

SUNDAY, APRIL 9 MARCH.
Dallas
Lulac National is coordinating what is billed as the largest march in history. The march is being held to support the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill. The march will start at the Cathedral and end at the city hall plaza.Thousands of people are expected to attend. People from all over the country will be in attendance.
Mission Statement To conduct a peaceful march in a family-safe environment where we may demonstrate our displeasure with Congress unjust policies geared toward undocumented immigrants.
We need monitors to ensure that folks follow the rules, which are the following:
a. No Mexican Flags will be flown. Only U.S. flags will be displayed.
b. Everyone wears white, to signify peace.
c. There will be no negative messages. All banners must be positive.
All the churches are participating. The Bishop may speak...not confirmed.
There are! many opportunities to volunteer including the areas of logistics, media, security, voter registration, etc.
Groups from all racial/ethnic communities are invited to participate in the march.
There will be voter regisration tables at the plaza.
There will be VIP speakers. The program will start off with first graders leading us in the pledge of allegiance.
WE NEED EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.
MONDAY, APRIL 10 - National Immigrant Civil Rights Day
On Monday, April 10, people in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area will wear white ribbons, arm bands or wristbands to remind people of the importance of dealing with immigrants civily and justly.
Monday April 10 will also be "NOT A PENNY" day. All persons are asked not to spend a single cent on April 10. Don't buy gas, don't go to Walmart, don't go to lunch. This is meant to show the impact and importance of the immigrant on our economy.

Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.
Demand a local Mexican driver's license. This will afford other legal rights
and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in
Mexico.
Drive around with no liability insurance and ignore local traffic laws.
Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.
Good luck, You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon be dead.
It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in the world EXCEPT right
here in the United States. Land of the naive and bleeding hearts!!
