NATTY BASS is a combination once heavy (RANIUM the machines controller has been mixing hardhouse and jungle for 10 years) and once subtle (FRANK D. on drums who's done his learning at the National Music School inside the Jazz section and in the french band called "RIEN" and many others). NATTY BASS is an astonished metal aloy moulded beside great artists in styles like punk, techno, rock and free jazz. It's going from FREDDY FRESH, ADAM F in passing by CAUSE 4 CONCERN, PRIMUS, CARL CRAIG, PRODIGY. Those two fellows have been putting into practice many styles and have been backing quite a few international artists. Reinforced by a stickler sound engineer and by those heterogeneous experiences, NATTY BASS reveals itself as a hammering swingy mix which's meter is blocked between 110 and 195 BPM. It can be described as an "ultra - dynamic" sound which is interacting between the frenetic hardtech beats, the grungy sounds of soul and the subtle modulations of Jungle. The techno breakbeats harmonise for the stricly pleasure of ears and feet! Because if the NATTY BASS is a cheerful call of the dance floors' uprising, it also is a great cross breeding of Techno, Drum and Bass and Breakbeat which can be sampled the most "soundmaniac" way it can be. After the remix of "NO ESCAPE" from LE PEUPLE DE L HERBE feat. UK Apache (vynil and CD edition) and the album "SOUND THAT HAMMERS" , NATTY BASS outs its second LP : "KOMINTERN".

NATTY BASS, branche live du NATTY BASS SOUND SYSTEM (collectif forme a Londres en 1995) est issu d'un concept de mix Jungle dj + batteur appele Decks & Drum. S'ensuit la composition de morceaux avec d'abord une formation dj (scratchs) + sampleur + batterie, suivit d'un trio clavier / Rhodes + sampleurs / sequenceurs / synths + batterie, qui aboutira a la creation du NATTY BASS LIVE avec plusieurs concerts en France et assura la premiere partie du PEUPLE DE L'HERBE sur la tournee 2002-2003.
C'est en duo que le groupe se retrouve en studio pour l'enregistrement de l'album "SOUND THAT HAMMERS" avec Ranium aux machines et Frank D. a la batterie. Apres s'etre fait la main aux cotes de DEATH IN VEGAS, des SVINKELS, de ZENZILE, de JAGGA JAZZIST, c'est en live que le groupe donne toute sa puissance, le compteur bloque entre 110 et 195 bpm, ascenant bass Jungle et nappes Trance, metissant les beats Drum & Bass et les ambiances technoiide, le tout sous l'egide du Breakbeat !
Le groupe :
RANIUM, nourri aux Punk, Soul, Indus, Psycho, Ska, se cartonne à la Techno en 1991. Apres avoir exerce derriere une batterie pendant 4 ans, il continue son periple musicale en s'entourant de platines en 1993 et mixe au cote de gros boss : FREDDY FRESH, ADAM F, DERRICK MAY, ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION. A partir de 1999, premiers sampleurs et premiers morceaux avec un remix de FRED GALLIANO sur F.COM, musiques de courts-metrage; 2002, remix du PEUPLE DE l'HERBE feat UK APACHE chez P.I.A.S et premier album : "SOUND THAT HAMMERS" (2004/2005); 2006/2007, 2 eme LP : "KOMINTERN".
FRANK D. commence la batterie a 10 ans. A l' age de 15 ans il entre a L'ENM (Ecole Nationnale De Musique) de Villeurbanne ou il apprend a jouer differents styles tels le Funk, le Jazz et le Rock. A 17 ans il integre le Groupe RIEN (Rock progressif) avec qui il effectuera environ 200 concerts en France, Espagne, Hollande ainsi que plusieurs enregistrements dont 1 album. S'en suit une serie de concerts avec d'autres groupes de la region lyonnaise comme CUPIDON, CHARLY RAID ainsi que MAD JIMITYS, MIGHTY CUT. C'est en 2003 que Frank D. fait la rencontre de Ranium pour continuer l'aventure du Natty Bass qui conduira a l'enregistrement des albums "SOUND THAT HAMMERS" et "KOMINTERN"
