About me: Our Mission is to educate and empower people to make healthy lifestyle choices that enhance and bring balance to their lives and to encourage them to build a community to continue this mission.
More than just a cooking school, we are deeply engaged in the local natural foods and macrobiotic communities. Globally, our students and teachers engage others across cultural boundaries. As a cooking school, we are ranked as one of the top 15 career and technical schools by Austin Business Journal. Our cooking classes cover healthy vegan and vegetarian macrobiotic cuisine. Our community cooking classes reveal the simple, fun and gourmet sides of macrobiotic cooking, and our Culinary Training Program was called one of the top "Cutting Edge Cuisine" culinary programs in the nation by Vegetarian Times in December 2000.
We develop graduates who have mastery of whole foods selection, preparation, and presentation; an intuitive understanding of the energetic nature of food; and an appreciation of nutrition's effect on health and disease. We emphasize a holistic approach to cooking which incorporates practical technique, personal artistry, attitude, seasonality, and mindfulness.
We regularly offer informative seminars for people interested in an alternative approach to food, nutrition, health, and healing. .
