The Thirteen Goals of a Witch by: Scott Cunningham This was written by one of the greatest Wiccan authors. 1. Know thyself 2. Know the craft 3. Learn 4. Apply knowledge within wisdom 5. Achieve balance 6. Keep your words in good order 7. Keep your thoughts in good order 8. Celebrate life 9. Attune with the cycles of the Earth 10. Breathe and eat correctly 11. Exercise the body 12. Meditate 13. Honor the Goddess and God We as Wiccans have firmly grasped this. We should practice what we preach.
Music
Movies
TelevisionWitches believe in the “Rule of Three.” This however has nothing to do with the “Law of Karma” as some believe. Karma is "the force generated by a person's actions, believed in Hinduism and Buddhism to determine his/her destiny in the next existence." As stated in the dictionary and many books about other “karma” based religions. The “Rule of Three” reads as follows: (taken from Wikipedia) “Ever mind the Rule of Three Three times what thou givest returns to thee This lesson well, thou must learn Thee only gets what thou dost earn! “ We do not use the Wiccan Crede or the Credo. We wrote our own that suits our Intentions. It is called the "Witches Vow." This was written by FireDancer and is copyrighted so please do not use it.
“Harken ye kindred spirits, of air, fire, sea, and ground, no more are our mysteries hidden, the magic of gatherings abound, we honor all aspects of nature, magic workings the witches way, 13 moons and 8 blessed sabbats, that span o’er a year and a day, our spells and charms we ever strive, to follow the laws of three, we use herbs, and stones, and candlecrafts, merry meet, all things blessed be, we draw the sacred circle, with wand, athame, and sword, we invoke spirits and mystical corners, to honor our lady and lord, we speak these words, as our solemn vow, let no harm, in our magic be found “
The “Law of Three” reads as follows: “Mind the Threefold Law you should, Three times bad and three times good.” This is a Cosmic Law, not a Wiccan Law, even though many Wiccans do abide by it and it is included in the Wiccan Rede…which is good. The “Law of Karma” is not a Wiccan thing. It belongs to the Hindus and shame on whoever tried to steal it!!! Karma is Sanskrit for "deed.” The Law of Karma simply tells you that bad things happen to bad people and good things will befall those who are honorable. This is something that one needs to remember if they come upon someone who is rude and ignorant. Just tell yourself that they will get what is coming to them, and they will. If you have noticed that mean people usually are unhappy even if they have all the money and everything they want. This is because they have bad Karma. Nice people are generally happy, even though sometimes they get caught in bad situations. It will all come together in the end. Karma originated in the Vedic system of religion, otherwise known as Hinduism. Karma has nothing to do with Wicca what-so-ever, no matter what you have read in books. There are three types of karma, 1. sanchita karma, the sum total of past karmas yet to be resolved; 2. prarabdha karma, that portion of sanchita karma that is to be experienced in this life; and 3. kriyamana karma, the karma that humans are currently creating and will bear fruit in the future. There are several versions of this Law. The Buddhists read as follows: “For every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.”

How would I define Nature’s Fellowship? In one very long definition:

Nature's Fellowship is a Fellowship which was started by a group of Solitary Practitioning Naturals in 2001 and was formally introduced in 2003. However, the Fellowship is open to non solitaries as well. We are primarily a Witches Circle, but have members who are Pagan, Wiccan and some who are Mystic Christians and some who are just Witches.

Natures Fellowship is evolving rapidly. We have gone through another change. When we started, we were concentrating on the Religious aspect of nature. Now we took a right turn, and are concentrating on the aspect of Witch Craft and nature. Not all of us were Wiccan. Not all of us were Pagan. Now we are Naturian. There will be no label. There cannot be one. We teach the truth about Wicca and Witch Craft. You will not find us hiding. We do not condone "fluff bunnies."

We have two Circles thus far. The Circle of the Mountain Triune which is the mother Circle of Nature’s Fellowship. Two of our members have moved to South Carolina and have started The Circle of the Crescent Moon.
We do not make things up as we go along, as some people have stated in the past. We have had to lay out the structure that best suits our needs. We have been told that we don't know what we are doing. Quite the contrary. The Fellowship works and it works quite well. We knew exactly what we were doing from the inception of this Fellowship. The idea for the Fellowship was well thought out before we started, as were the Intentions. We are dedicated to the Life Force now and forever. We follow the laws as are dictated in our Intentions and value everything in nature. What sets us apart and makes us different, is the fact that most of us are Solitaries. We do not have a High Priestess or High Priest. We do not have Initiations. We write our own rituals and our own spells. Many of us make our own tools. We teach, not preach.

After a year we starting having monthly meetings @ Mystic Isles, which is a local spiritual shop in our local area. This put us in contact with more folks who we came to find out, were the missing link to the Fellowship. Things really took off. We have 13 local members.

We do not fulfill the historic definition of the word "COVEN." There can be no hierarchy in the Fellowship. We do however, have "position" holders. We are a group of self initiated Natural Solitaries, who have already given themselves over to the Life Force. There is no a year and a day to be initiated. Most of the folks who join us are already initiated. We have inductions. This is where the Witch may dedicate herself/himself to the Fellowship and to the other Witches in the Fellowship We have some who attend, but are not “members” as they have not been inducted. Induction will only happen if THEY choose to become members. There is no pressure to join, but these people still are treated as if they are members and are welcome to partake in all that we do as a Circle, with exception to Magickal Rituals.

We teach each other and learn from each other as well. Such as people have to adapt to their surroundings, Witches have adapted to the changing times, time constraints (ie, work, children, etc). And, such as religions and people evolve, we have evolved.
We set up the structure the way that we did so everyone could be "involved." Everyone has a talent. Everyone has something to teach, and everyone has something to learn. No one person knows everything. This will allow for each individual who heads the council to shine at their finest and will allow those who “don’t know” to learn without feeling outed. This will also allow for the education of the public about our beloved Religion in a non-threatening manner. There will be no door to door knocking...only us out there doing what we do best. Being Spiritual and being us.

We are in the process of writing a book and establishing ourselves as an actual "Fellowship of Naturian."

********************************************************** DIRECTIONS:

From DC area via Rt. 66 / I-81 / Rt. 50: (150 miles) Take Rt. 66 West all the way to I-81 Take I-81 North to exit 310 (10 miles) which is 37 N. / 50 W Romney (bear left at light off exit ramp) . After several miles on Rt. 37, exit onto Rt. 50 (again, bear left at light off exit ramp) . Stay on Rt. 50 for 68 miles (past Romney, past the exit for 220 N. to Keyser) until you pass Rt. 42 North (to Elk Garden -- don't turn) . Proceed on Rt. 50 for 4.7 more miles and you will come to a concrete bridge that crosses Abram's Creek (note reflective yellow and black striped caution signs and reflective campground symbol sign) ; turn right onto gravel road just before the bridge -- you will see a 4'x6' Abram's Creek Campground billboard. (If you end up in the town of Mt. Storm, you've gone about 3 miles too far)

**Proceed along main gravel road past the small white house and turn left at the 2nd home (Lodge House) for campground self-serve Check-In and Registration, located on the front porch of the Lodge House. Proceed along the main gravel road to get to the campsites and cabins. Campground brochures / maps / and general information are located at the Lodge House.

Before or after looking around, Check in / Register and pay fees at the Check-In / Registration Kiosk at the Lodge House. Security confirms payments and registrations nightly.

From Points North of DC or from Baltimore (Rockville, MD and North) : Take interstate 270 to 70 and proceed all the way to National Highway 68 (From Baltimore simply get on 70 West)

. Take National Highway 68 to Cumberland and take 220 South through the town of Keyser to fork in road just past Walmart at end of Keyser -- at fork keep to right on 972 South to join Rt. 50W in about 2 miles.

Turn right onto Rt. 50 (West) and proceed on Rt. 50 until you pass Rt. 42 North (about 10 minutes up the mountain -- dont' turn) Continue on Rt. 50 for 4.7 more miles past and you will come to a concrete bridge over Abram's Creek (note reflective yellow and black striped caution signs and reflective campground symbol sign) ;

turn right onto gravel road just before the bridge -- you will see a 4'x6' Abram's Creek Campground billboard. (If you end up in the town of Mt. Storm, you've gone about 3 miles too far) .

(continue with directions from above**) .

***************************************************************************** Scenic Route -- 170 miles: From DC area via Rt. 66 / I-81 / WV Rt. 55:

Take Rt. 66 West all the way to I-81

Take I-81 South for two exits and exit on Rt. 55 West. Stay on Rt. 55 West all the way to Petersburg, WV (about 1 hour) -- Note that Rt. 55 has many unexpected turns -- and includes a stretch on new super highway Rt. 55 -- pay attention to signs.

At the end of Petersburg, take WV 42 North for about 25 miles to where it intersects US 50 (town of Mt. Storm) . Take US 50 East (turn right) for exactly 3.2 miles down the mountain.

As soon as you cross over the concrete bridge at the bottom of Mt. Storm, bear left onto the gravel road (note reflective yellow and black striped caution signs and reflective campground symbol sign) ; -- continue with directions from above**.

Rt. 55 in WV is a very scenic country road. The stretch of Rt. 55 beyond Petersburg to Seneca Rocks (22 miles out of the way) provides one of the most beautiful and scenic stretches of country road south of costal Maine. Most of Rt. 55 follows a magnificent river valley, with this section being particularly spectacular with exposed massive rock structures abutting out of the mountains and a gorgeous shallow river following every mile of road. Roadside scenic parks are plentiful and magnificient.

The rock structures have names like Seneca Rocks, Baker Rocks, and Champe Rocks. Smokehole caverns (www.smokehole.com) and Seneca caverns (www.senecacaverns.com) are also on this detour. You will pass endless log cabins and a whole town called Cabins, WV which was named for obvious reasons.

Note: Although scenic, Rt. 55 goes through many small towns, has lots of unexpected turns through towns and even goes onto super highway for about 15 miles (spectacular new Rt. 55) . This scenic drive is a far more complex route to get to Abram's Creek than Rt. 50 -- take this route only if you don't easily get lost. Rt. 55 option also adds about 10 miles and 30 minutes to the overall drive.
