Biography

((NAVTILVS°)), founded 2008 in Vienna, Austria.

Not influenced by a specific style of music, but by our nightmares & the cataclysmic prospects of the downfall of this cursed world experienced daily.

This is a band working differently. First there is a lyrical concept in which we put our musical ideas. Somewhere in between heavy & dark post-hardcore, dissonant instrumental eruptions, & ambient soundscapes. Apart from the inner circle of the band, which manifests itself in a-five piece, we work with artists/musicians of all genres that are willing to put pieces of themselves into the creative process.

In April 2010, we issued our first official release, the "POLARIS VLTIMAT I"-EP. This piece of music is the first part of a trilogy dealing with the motif of isolation. It tells the story of a man who lives an average life, has average friends and an average job. One day he awakes & everyone is gone. The only thing that remains of a former civilization are the snow covered ruins of his previously reality. On his quest to find another human being, he faces the harsh wilderness & the lethality of total isolation & self-mutilation...

The subsequent EP "Polaris II" was released in January 2011.
