Sweet morning pancakes, with a little chocalate because you're a pig. But it's alright. No, dont worry just sit back, have a cup of your favorite warm beverage and make sweet love to the closest living organism.
- NAVARONE 2006
Navarone is a band that combines an eclectic mix of hard rock, punk, pychedelia, acoustic ballads, and of course rock n roll, pushing the limits in terms of creativity, energy and passion for the music. Formed in early 2005, there humble beginnings originated in Ross Patel and Rakan Mansours jamming of punk rock songs, similar to that of Blink 182 and The Descendants. They were named Wasted Time, and predominantly played punk rock and covers. After a series of band changes, Navarone had solidified, and released their first LP entitled PILK. Seemingly about nothing, and everything at the same time, PILK defied what was happening in the Kenya rock scene, and brought it to a whole new level. The band lineup had solidified, Ross Patel, lead guitarist, vocals; David Ulsh: rhythm guitar and vocals, Rakan Masour: Bass, Kinlay Denning: Drums, and Sasha Mamaev: Lead Guitar. After a series of gigs around Nairobi, Navarone released their second installment; under the name Split EP cause they couldnt find any better name to fit it. Nevertheless, not only did the Split EP surmise the greatest elements of PILK but Navarone had yet again varied in terms of genre and reached a new level of creativity. Featuring Roy Levari on Lead Guitar, Split EP was the connection between Navarones last LP and the new material underway. Presently, Navarone has yet again reformed, Sid Sub-human joining the ranks under the position of Rhythm Guitarist and co-vocalist; and yet again more members have fallen under enemy lines. Navarone plans to release a second LP, entitled Kaleidoscopic, which summarizes the ADD induced variety of Genre that Navarone has once again explored. Also under the radar, is a DVD in the works, promising to be full of music videos, live footage, and other such goodies.
Its now the year 2006...Navarone yet again has had another band change...rakan left the band for his own personal reasons....leaving us with an oppurtunity to recruit a new bassist...
for a while we were left with a studio bassist as kinlay who wrote the bass parts for all the songs in Navarone's new album...Kaleidoscopic....
Now we have fresh meat....with Danny "chutney mc'spankee" Little, laying down bass frequencies of insanity for the band...his addition has not only made us better performers....but is also a catalyst for new material which is being worked on presently...
After the unique success of Kaleidoscopic, Navarone has changed its sound and changed their image to a whole new genre that no one can explain...
A new album is being worked on....which will quite change the perception of life of listeners and fans of the band....
Be aware listeners....because the new material is gonna blow u aways...
So thats navarone; The past, present and future in a nutshell the size of your fist.
