I grew up on the south side of Chicago. At 10 we moved to a rural setting on the outskirts of Crown Point, Indiana. Five years later we moved back into suburbia, Munster, Indiana. I was a Boy Scout, baseball star, and school chess champ. In all, I have lived in 23 cities and 10 states including a 4 year stint in merry old England (East Anglia near Cambridge). I've attended 9 colleges and held 40+ jobs including my 10 years in the United States Air Force. I have degrees in Communications and Theology. I love God, life, nature, reading and writing voraciously, and special times with good friends.

Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

I’m going through my friends’ list one prayer at a time, lifting your needs and that of your family before the throne of God. Here is a reminder from God’s Word:
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
To me this seems an awesome ambition – to love others as Christ loves us. We cannot do it in our own power, but only as we allow the fountain of His love to bubble up in our hearts and flow out to those around us. May your fountain overflow more and more each day as you grow in the certainty of His love for you.
