In practicality, the concept for a company was born in 1980 while the name NavWorks began in 1990. NavWorks found itself in print as NavWorks Unincorporated as early as 1995. It made its first appearance online in 1996 as a Yahoo account simply known as NavWorks.

In 2004, the domain name NavWorks.org was secured and the web page for NavWorks Writing and Editing was established. Some additional business ventures led to founding NavWorks WholeLife Services in 2005.

Subsequently, NavWorks Services was established as the overall company name with the following divisions: NavWorks Press, NavWorks Writing and Editing, NavWorks WholeLife Services, and NavWorks Seminars.

NavWorks Services is listed in the Tuscaloosa/Northport Yellow Pages under the heading: Public Speaking Instruction with a phone number of (205)333-0702.

NavWorks Press currently has two works in progress, the foremost being the anthology of the Pride in Poetry prize winners and other selected poets, Between Life and Language.
