About me: The National Black Arts Festival is pleased to announce our upcoming twentieth year as the leading presenting arts and cultural organization in the United States celebrating the art and artists of Africa and the African Diaspora.
We are many things to many people - an inspiration, a transforming force, a legacy, a depository of intellectual property, a creative clearinghouse, a center for creative exchange and collaboration, an artistic resource and a celebration of the creative spirit. Twenty years is a significant milestone and it is with pride that we declare, “We’re still here.”
The 2008 Festival dates are July 18-July 27. Mark your calendar! Visit www.nbaf.org for schedules and more information about The 2008 National Black Arts Festival!
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone with an artistic vibe and creative spirit who understands the revolutionary nature of art. We cannot be artists and not use our voice to speak truth and question the status quo.

Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these. - Susan B. Anthony
