About me:

JOE SCARBOROUGH

About Me

I am currently the host of Morning Joe (WHICH AIRS AT 6/5c ON MSNBC). Before TV, I served in the U.S. Congress from 1994-2001.

I moved around quite a bit growing up. Born in Atlanta, I lived in Meridian, MS and Elmyra, NY before my family settled in Pensacola, FL, where I have lived since.

I spent most of my wasted youth playing music and sports, playing quarterback for Pensacola Catholic High and spending all my free time writing and recording original music.

I went to the University of Alabama as an undergraduate, where I was blessed to get to watch the great Paul 'Bear' Bryant coach his final seasons. After graduating I went to Law School at the University of Florida. I practiced law until I was compelled to run for public office in 94.

I emerged from a crowded field of five Republicans and took the seat from an 18 year incumbent, becoming the first Republican to represent my district since 1873. During my time in congress I was fortunate to have to opportunity to serve on the Armed Services, Judiciary, Government Reform, and Education committees.

Joe,
I was happy to see that they had your show on this morning on the west coast... at a reasonable hour! :)

I wonder how much of Obama's decision was made in order to placate the right. Arianna had it right, of course, and in the end he will please neither side by taking the middle road because both parties have become extreme in their own beliefs.
I think he just made himself a one-term President. i always thought of McCain as the war candidate. I could understand if this was the war of 2002 instead of Iraq. I could understand increasing troops if the ultimate outcome outweighed the death and debt we will incur over the next six months to a year. I have listened to people like Matthew Hoh on Hardball and CNN, talking of logistics and the corrupt Karzai government, I also read an article about McCrystal. I can't see us securing Pakistan via Afghanistan in such a short period of time.
This just feels wrong. I am saddened and disappointed by the decision made by the Obama administration.
There WAS no easy decision, or good decision to be made. However, we should look at our mistakes from the past and learn from them, not make them again.
Thanks Joe.
xx

Together we can change the world by attacking global warming, which will create the demand for millions of jobs nationwide, and it pays for itself. Obama says we have to do it smarter, then why is he not implementing the plan?
Technology and Solar Power will propel us into the future. Engage!

Thanks Joe,
Maybe the next time I am up in the wee hours of a California morning I will be able to watch your show without the cable going out. lol
Well at least I was able to see half of it.
You are one of the good ones when it comes to Republicans. Your values are strong and true, reminiscent of the days when Barry Goldwater was around.
I like your style.

Now why don't you have Bill Maher on some morning? I hear he is bright eyed and bushy tailed in the wee small hours. I enjoyed your debate today on Afghanistan. I disagree with you regarding Obama's inability to announce a decision, but I respect your opinion.
Hope to catch you again soon.
Have a great weekend.

We hope the U.K. government can soon and voluntarily endorse our appeal for a United Nations hearing of our charges that Angola is guilty of murder and aggression in Cabinda, and hope that the U.K. delegation at the U.N. can ultimately take the initiative in getting the Cabinda appeal on the agenda! Thank you for adding me. I get up at 5 am to watch Morning Joe and I have to say I love the show, however, there have been a few times you have made me what to throw my shoe at the television. As a matter of fact I keep my television on channel 47 all day to watch all the shows on MSNBC.

Hey, Joe! (Jimi reference intended). Thank you for the add, I realized this morning I'm friends with everyone from MSNBC/NBC with a Myspace account but you all on Morning Joe/Way Too Early. I have to say, I love your interests here on your page! I don't always tend to get up early enough for your show, but when I do I really enjoy watching and have always loved the music you wake us up with. BIG music fan here.

I remember (what seems like several years ago) watching your show Scarborough Country on MSNBC, it was one of the first I can ever remember watching on MSNBC as I was much younger. I loved the show! And will try to watch Morning Joe/Today show every morning before going off to college as I start this Fall.

Have a good weekend, and take care.
