this is just me, trying to get through life without being committed to an asylum
And this is the classic K&W song, by Johnny Righteous, at Laurel Ridge.
Tell me how can I love Jesus
When I've never seen His face,
Yet I see you dying
And I turn and walk away?
~ Kirk Franklin

About me: I pretty much use and stay on Facebook now... consider it more safe and less crazy... i can keep up with friends without having to go through a bunch of junk. So that's the best way to keep up with me now. I'll check on here every now and then.
i don't add people i don't know, so don't ask. That ESPECIALLY goes for friend collectors and bands!
Warning: If you don't like my profile, my views, my beliefs, I don't care. This is my page, not yours. Put what you want on your page. I will block you if you message me with a bunch of crap telling me I'm wrong. Especially if you don't know me. Why start up an argument or debate with someone you don't know? Don't you have better things to do with your time? I'm not on this earth to please anyone but God. And none of you are Him, so don't tell me how I'm wrong. Heck, most of the time I can look at your profiles and see where mine looks angelic. So go on with your own lives and leave me to mine.
If you have never seen or heard the African Children's Choir, PLEASE watch this video... then Click Here to make a Donation. They deserve it.
Read about them on the webpage. If you don't get choked up, then your heart is cold.
I'm the one who is forgotten. I am the "friend" who was only invited if an extra person was needed. I'm the one who everyone called on when they had a problem. I'm the one who had a problem and everyone else ran in the other direction. I'm the one who they hid their plans from, so that I wouldn't show up... but we all ended up in the same place anyway. I was criticized for putting church over my social life, though they always acted like they were better in their faith than me. I'm the one who would have done anything for them, and they walked away. They wouldn't call or email... said they couldn't deal with a friendship that is far away... although crossing the ocean for others was OK. Where am I now? And where are they? Are they happy they treated me like this? Are their consciences clear?
Catch the rain empty hands,
Save the children from their lands,
wash the darkness from their skin.
Heroes from the West,
We don't know you, we know best.
But this is not a test.
It's not the way to light their way,
Boys in holes and empty fields,
Oh, how good it feels.
Lower class, and understate, empty promise, empty plate.
You treat me like I'm blind, setting fires around houses on the hill,
But light gives heat.
You segregate my mind, burning crosses from your fears, your fears,
But light gives heat.
Will you teach us how to love? To see the things you see,
Walk the road you walk, and feel the pain that you feel.
At your feet I kneel, I want to see you shine,
See your light not mine... 'cause light gives heat...
your light gives heat... gives heat.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
-- Dwight D. Eisenhower
From a speech before the American Society of Newspaper Editors
April 16, 1963
"'Love thy neighbor' is not a piece of advise, it's a command. And that means that in the global village we're gonna have to start lovin' a lot more people... And those in the church who still sit in judgment on the AIDS emergency, let me climb into the pulpit for just one moment... Because whatever thoughts we have about God, who He is, or even if God exists, most will agree that God has a special place for the poor. The poor are where God lives. God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes, where the poor play house. God is where the opportunity is lost and lives are shattered. God is with the mother who has infected her child with a virus that will take both their lives. God is in the rubble, in the cries we hear during wartime. God, my friends, is with the poor, and God is with us if we are with them. This is not a burden, this is an adventure. Don't let anyone tell you that it cannot be done. We can be the generation that can end extreme poverty." - Bono, 2007 NAACP Awards
"I was sick and you privatized medicine; I was homeless and you built sports stadiums; I was thirsty and you polluted the lakes; I was hungry and you gave control of the food chains to multinational corporations.." (from a letter to the editor in the Expository Times)
