About me:

The National Council of Geocosmic Research is a non-profit member organization that supports education and research exploring the relationship between cosmic patterns, earthly events and human affairs. We have the most active and accomplished astrological education system in the country. In the greater New York area, NCGR-sponsored astrology classes are taking place almost every night of the week. Our monthly lectures and meetings, together with intensive conferences held at least twice a year, cover every possible area of astrology, metaphysics and psychology. In addition to astrological research, we produce a publication called The Ingress which educates and informs our membership.

Judy Johns

May 6, 1944, 4:30 am, Black River Falls, WI --

May 6, 2008, approx.
8:45 pm, Los Angeles, CA

(The photo is of Judy and her husband, Ted.)

Marjorie Rosen announced Judy's passing to the Political Astrology list to the great shock of nearly all of us. We'd been aware she was not feeling well, but few of us had a hint of the seriousness of her condition.

I met Judy only once when we had dinner in Los Angeles in February 2006. We shared Taurus Suns and Libra Moons, excellent food and similar politics. It was one of the most convivial and fascinating meals in my memory. I felt I'd known her forever because of the Political Astrology list she was devoted to and founded. I never thought we'd meet just that once; there was so much more to say.

Some remembrances from two NCGR members follow.

Hello everyone,

One of my fondest memories of Judy, and I have several, is when I first met her at UAC 1995 in Monterey, CA. She gave a talk on mundane astrology that is a treasure. The tape, or more recently an MP3 may be available, is a wonderful history of how Judy worked with her charts, creating forecasts and seeing hot spots through the
ingress chart.

Judy was an inspiration to me and I'm sure to many, many others over the years and her mundane astrology approach will continue - I am so grateful that she has left that
information behind for others to learn from. A few years later Judy came to dinner with me and my family when we visited Los Angeles. We met at Yang Chow and shared a meal. She was kind enough to bring printouts of some of her sources and we talked a lot of astrology - I'm really grateful for that memory. She has so many friends and colleagues that will continue to promote her work and above all, revere her friendship. She will always be in my memory.

Farewell to Frances C. McEvoy

On Friday at NOON, Boston (EST) time, we are asking everyone in the International Astrology community, no matter where you are, what you're doing and what time zone you're in, to stop for a moment, thank Frances for her work and wish her well on her journey to the Galactic Center or wherever the Universe takes her.

Frances Coman McEvoy born on May 11, 1929, 4:05 am MST, Phoenix, Arizona

Transitioned: December 10, 2007, 11:38 pm EST, Belmont, Massachusetts
