Since 2002, this young women's choir ranging from about 12-30 has explored a contemporary approach to medieval music inspired by the work of contemporary & medieval ensembles such as 'Medieval Babes', Sarband, and Sequentia. But it is not just about the music. We seek to become an informal & supportive community, exploring our own spiritual journeys through contemporary & ancient songs & rituals, and encouraging an open, questioning and questing approach to spirituality.
Alison Eve, the director of nChant, has played both solo and with various bands since 1987, touring a variety of places and festivals from Northamptonshire, Devon, Liverpool, and Glasgow to name just a few. In 1996 she recorded an album with the folk/rock band Eve and the Garden, called, Quiet Earth & Shining Stars. Eatg explore and combine a variety of influences from rock, folk and world music, and a follow-up to the 1996 debut is currently in production.
The debut album Tears of Earth is available! Just £13 from the Tollbooth Shop. Buy the album here.
