I'm a voracious toddler of a Fringe - suddenly had a growth spurt and now trying to catch up with myself. And I'm looking forward to being one day a great big Fringe, part of a family of Fringes that see artists travelling the world.
About me: Applications for Barnstaple's Fringe TheatreFest09 have now closed.
There will be 23 companies, each giving three performances over the 4 days of Fringe TheatreFest (25th - 28th June).
There are 8 slots reserved for local companies with the rest coming from the wider SW region and other parts of the UK.
As in previous years there's a great variety of work on offer - a lot of new writing, dance, multi-media performance art, performance poetry, comedy in various forms - plenty to challenge and invigorate.
Last year the audience nearly doubled - a great achievement - but the emphasis in the coming year will be to grow that audience even further. It's already a great, buzzy low-cost theatrefest and is set to become even more buzzy this year with the introduction of a street element.
Who I'd like to meet: performers and companies - local, national and international - local people who want to help us make it happen - other Fringe organisations who want to help us get it right!

A Review featuring the songs of legendary 12 string guitarist, Buck Polley who died in 1964 - a major influence on British fingerstyle guitar and the subject of Bert Jansch’s ’Needle of Death’.
Also featuring songs of struggle and protest including Shelley’s epic poem ’The Mask of Anarchy’, with guitar accompaniment.
This will be a live recording session and Ralph McTell and Wizz Jones will be contributing their own tracks later.
