About me: 'siyo my relations! My name is Tamra, I am Tsalagi with some German and Irish blood too.
I am the Director/Founder of NDN News, a grassroots organization. NDN News is a grassroots organization which acts as an information hub and resource for many issues in Indian Country. We are dedicated to providing information featuring headline stories, on-going issues, action alerts, and upcoming events.
Our goal and focus is unity, solidarity and helping to make a difference in Indian Country.
I am very active in helping to create awareness about the ongoing issues and battles in Indian Country that we face every day. Activism, fighting for native rights and protecting sacred sites against the continual desacration. I am a activist that is very involved in helping spread the word about ndn issues. I beleive that education and outreach are a critical tool to help create awareness about these ongoing issues, in addition to being proactive and involved. I am a firm beleiver of not just sitting behind your computer (ie...internet warrior) and complaning about issues, but actually stepping up, getting involved, being proactive and helping to do something about them! The only way we are going to accomplish moving forward is thru unity and solidarity, working together to help make a difference. The division and disunity are tearing apart the people and hopefully someday soon, people will begin to realize what is happening! I do what I can to help the people. Wake up each day and put one foot in front of the other and do the best I can, each and every day.

I beleive in traditional values, respect, spirituality and the old ways. I honor mother earth and everything on her. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I live a fairly simple and humble life and am very happy living in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.
I find it hearbreaking that disfunctionality has become the norm, in NDN Country. Some values that I wish all people still had as a Indigenous nations and people.....honor, respect, dignity, pride, tradition, spirituality....they all equal Native Pride! Unfortunately, people have absorbed themselves into this messed up society today and are now into drugs, alcohol, abuse and domestic violence.
One of my quotes.......
"Our sacred lands are all that remain keeping us connected to our place on Mother Earth, to our spirituality, our heritage and our lands; what’s left of them. If they take it all away, what will remain except a vague memory of a past so forgotten?"
In Peace & Solidarity.....
..
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone that is active in NDN issues, helping fight for the cause! People who are passionate about the protection of sacred sites.
With Sweetest Wishes for a Blessed & Beautiful Mother's Day Weekend :)
