in Vienna today, - live sound for 'The Joy Formidable' supporting 'The Temper Trap'!張貼於 2 小時前。 檢視更多
It's all about WHO you record with.
Nowadays, with modern gear, "The Studio" is a process, not a place.
What this means is that - as long as you choose the right person - you can get an exceptional, high quality production without spending a fortune.
Which is where I come in...
I'm Neak. I do record production and live sound engineering. I've been doing it for about 15 years. I absolutely LOVE my job, and I'm really good at what i do!
I used to be singer/guitarist in an underground london band called Inimenter, according to the press we were quite good actually?!?
So, as a musician, I'm totally sick of seeing bands having a rubbish time during recording sessions and being overcharged for results that just don't qualify.
You know the story - "Big Name Studio" has some downtime at a supposed "bargain price", you spend a fortune and a really stressful time trying to get your tracks down - only to have them mixed by either the tea boy or some completely unintrested, arrogant moron! Your recording sounds like poo, and it cost you the earth... not to mention the hassle.
Or you record with "your mate that's got cubase" - slog your heart out tracking in some sweaty garage, wait for a year for them to learn how to mix, and still have poo results.
Well, I'll offer you this. A recording as cheap as I can possibly afford (or less!), and my ability and dedication to make it sound as amazing as it does inside your head (or better!). :O)
My "name" competitors are probably trying to charge you £5000 a week for recording. This is partly because they're trying to keep up with crushing studio overheads (including staff you may or may not want to work with). And partly 'cos they're greedy :)
This is how I keep your costs and your stresses down:
I don't own a studio - We rent one nearby, just for the drums ('cos no matter how loud you scream on vocals, drums are always way LOUDER!). The rest of the tracks are recorded in a dedicated space at my place.
You don't need to book hotels! Bands are welcome to stay as my guests for the duration of the session at no extra cost. We have a dormroom kitted out with bunks and entertainment stuff! You also have a whole living room to hang out in (got SkyTV, Internet, loads of gamesconsoles, music & videos)... Got some great decking wrapped around the house so you can grab a drink and look at the mountains - and just 5 mins up the road is Mountains & Castles & Pubs and stuff (The Brecon Beacons, noless!). Also, one of our mates runs a paintballing centre and we get great prices, so if you fancy shooting your bandmates, you can do that too... NO MORE STUDIO FEVER!
You get free tweaks. Once you leave your session and get home, if there's anything that is still nagging at you about your end result, just let me know and I'll fix it! (no more leaving the studio with what you think is the best thing ever, only to get home and go "oh, sh*t...")
You'll have access to your multitracks and premastered mixes. If you need to get remixes done at any point just let me know and I'll provide you with what you need.
I do the WHOLE thing, if you want. I engineer, produce, mix and master. - Many producers will only produce, they'll hire an engineer and tape-op to track you, they'll hire a mix engineer to mix the tracks and they'll farm it out to mastering studio to master it. All of which is gonna cost YOU a fortune. (I have to wonder how these guys justify their personal fee, seeing as they get someone else to do nearly everything!)
I am independant. ("It's just you and me baby!") I don't work for a studio and I don't have to pay agent/manager fees. So I don't have to charge you them in turn! This also cuts out all the politics and agendas to have to toe-the-line with.
I'm totally committed to making the session as easy as possible for the musician, that means working with or without clicktracks, slice/quantise/retrigger of drums OR NOT, as you wish... Real amp or plugins... happy to accommodate whatever method you need or want. Guitar & Vocal edits oh yes! We can have a play with your songs or just take them as they are...
I know what I'm doing - despite my low pricetag, you WILL NOT get this quality from "your mate that's got cubase".
You cannot refuse an offer like this! It's a rare thing... Lets make it real.
Message me, or call me on 07828 017637 if you want to book in or if you've got any questions about methods and processes...
"We're part of the new breed, you and I - screw the multi-million dollar budgets that we'll never be able to pay back - we can do it ourselves!"
Client list - for those these things matter to:

Punk rock in its purest form, wrapped in social angst, feeding claustrophobic paranoia that transcends into an outlet of extremes. Violence. Pain. Obsession.
Check out this amazing 4 disc boxset that chronicles this genius's life. From the very first time he started to make music to the most recent. With over 90 songs this is a buy of a lifetime!!! They are all hand numbered and come with an awesome art booklet designed by none other than Casey Chaos himself.
There are only 2500 out there, get yours now!!!!!!!!
