No, I felt crappy so stayed in all curled up watching tv with a mate. I get sulky when I'm ill and didn't want to have to be sociable and perform. There'll always be other slams, never mind.

You should come along, be nice to see a friendly face =]
I don't think the organiser likes me much, so I'm still debating whether I should bother or not. I was thinking for more of a networking moment anyway, I've not been at this long enough to think I can start winning awards lol.

Sorry to hear about your flu - hope you feel better soon. Marina sounds great.

I'm studying to be a social worker - or at least that was my idea before my first year there, and I'm really not sure it's what I want to become now. Subjects include food science, law, pedagogy and so on.

Enjoy Regina's gig! I loved her last album and I'm sure she's going to put on a good show. x

Well, I dropped out some years ago and I'm back to high school. Basically this is the last year before I can think of higher education. It's been two months since I got back, and eyebags are starting to appear. I'm turning into a raccoon! Ah well.

One can only dream, haha.

I'm busy and tired, thanks for asking - getting my educational career back on track is rather exhausting, so I'm logging on only when I get notifications.

Hope you're doing well. And given your dirty rhymes, it looks like you really do!

Haha. They're showcasing lots of artists and bands so I'm not really expecting to be offered a deal! But it's lovely to be asked!

I'm gooood. I'm doing a gig in December as a showcase set up by a record company. They're looking for new signings and have asked me to play. So I'm pretty much terrified for that! haha. How are you?

Hello Neal, nice work!!! I especially love "we had sex"...sooo funny! How's life? I've been busy, more with photography than comedy for a bit (have finally set up a facebook group for my photos to promote my work and it seems to be working) but am missing comedy too much so I'm going to get back into it again...one gig a week is not enough to make me happy...have to write some new stuff though. Get in touch soon, G XXX

Dash, left the job half done - really sorry to hear about your flu Neal. But glad you're on the mend now; lots of it about, or so I hear. I've not really been particularly active on the new music front recently, although Florence and Bat for Lashes are still very much rocking my boat.

You still planning to attend that Bird Eats Baby gig next month? When is it again?

I definitely have an eye on London for the future; I'd rather not have to move in a rush but I can imagine migrating that way at some stage. Much more potential work but, like you say, higher competition too.

I certainly hope you can keep the work flowing through the difficult times. It's part of the reason for our own downturn here; we have an awful lot of regular work from public sector organisations which has dried up. Best of luck with it anyhow.

I was thinking actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't something of a myspace renaissance in the near future. I know facebook has overtaken it in terms of general social networking, but myspace definitely has the edge in terms of an easy, interactive portal for artistic types. I keep meaning to start a gallery of my artwork here but I never seem to get round to it...

I absolutely agree with wanting to keep things a surprise, it's more the speculation and conjecture I get caught up in - which is usually wrong, ironically enough!

Work, well yes, it's a little tricky at the moment - essentially I'll be out of a job come Christmas, so I'm applying for new stuff all over the place! I'm hoping not just yet, but a move might even be on the cards, so we shall see. Exciting times anyway.

How are things your end? Still getting plenty to keep you busy?

Nov 22 2009 5:41 PM

Yeah, I was a little bit confused about the lack of Ice Warriors. Maybe a day trip to Venus or something? Did you catch the preview of The End of Time on Children in Need? Certainly served to whet the appetite, I'm not sure how much conjecture you've heard about it but my inner fanboy is positively exploding with excitement!

Nov 22 2009 4:52 PM

Oh yes, I thought it raced along, great stuff - plus it's left me somewhat in the dark about where the character and the story will go at Christmas. Not that it's always completely predictable, but there's usually a "safe-zone" I guess we trust the Doctor to stay inside, but he seems to be stepping out of the box a little...
