"Misery in Paradise" is complete. At long last we finally finished it. Recorded/engineered by singer/bass player Brian Grisham and mastered by Tim Gennert at a total cost of about $800, we say not bad. Especially if you could see some of the equipment we used.
We hope you all enjoy it.
Thanks,
Near Life
..We're 5 dudes that love music. More often than not we fall into the category of Progressive Metal but we do a lot of stuff that isn't really metal. As a band Near Life avoids trying to fit into any particular genre. All we really do is make music that we would like to hear and hope that other people share that sentiment and like our music as well. As time progresses we find ourselves delving further and further into the realm of the classics and our newer music is beginning to reflect that. Who knows what the future will bring.

"NEAR LIFE "Misery in Paradise" demo
I am truly impressed by this VERY original band delivering hypnotic metal with some well rounded edges, on that very album, you can clearly feel the crisp taste of acute riffs, sometimes full of acerbity and the roundness of keyboards, sometimes sounding like church organs...layered with an intense register of vocals....litterally shifting on and off from very sensual soft up to outrageously raging tormented screams...This is stunning, like a dialogue between an angel and a demon led with utter animosity...theatrical...just impressive and intense...the perfect link between metal and...Theatre! Just think of a divine, fruity wine with a truly irresistible forest fruits (especially blackberry and blueberry) finish on the palate. I am truly impressed by the five songs which are on this new ep...funny because i have the booklet of their previous "Of Love and Illusions" while i got that amazing new ep instead. Sometimes i even think of a softer version of our Exeter's RED MIST. No more to say, i am REALLY impressed by NEAR LIFE."
