Formed in Kilkenny (Ireland) in the summer of 2003, Nearly Dead Jim are a three-piece alternative rock band with a difference. The eclectic nature of the bands immediate influences, combined with their focus on originality, makes the Nearly Dead Jim sound impossible to pigeon-hole.
Steve Ryan (guitars/vocals), Eamonn Gray (bass), and Bob Ryan (drums) formed a band with the intention of making a name for themselves. And thats exactly what theyve done. Nearly Dead Jim continue to play packed venues throughout Ireland. Their debut EP, The Waking End, has been praised by fans and critics alike and copies of this cd are still in high demand. Having recently recorded a new track, the band are very excited at the prospect of recording their first album over the coming months. Watch this space!
In the face of the homogeneity of the current rock scene, Nearly Dead Jim remain strong in their belief that creation is more important than imitation. As the band continues to grow, their music continues to move forward; creatively, emotionally and intellectually. For people who demand music with substance and sincerity, this is your band.

Hi Guys, Hope all is well. We are hoping to get support (Votes) from other bands in Ireland to help us along in the You’re A Star competition tomorrow night on RTE1. Generaly bands look badly on this show, however we feel that this view is a little out dated, we see it as a kind of a battle of the bands competition (which most of us have entered at one stage or another) we are representing all bands in Ireland and the solo artist, well, they’re representing themselves. So it’s Rock –v- Pop!. We where in the bottom two last week and really want to progress in the show, as you will all be well aware it is very, very tough to break trough onto The Irish or International music scene, its hard work and its EXPENSIVE. The top prize on the show this year is €50,000 cash and €10,000 worth of music equipment, we really hope that you guys will get behind us to try and change perception that bands don’t do well on these shows, WE CAN and if we do other bands will get a chance at winning much needed fund. The show starts at 6.30p.m. & voting starts at 7.30.p.m. Please HELP by txting star11 to 53125 or calling 1513 71 71 11. Please also pass this message on to other bands you may know, we really do need the support of real musicians…..

Now in its 3rd year the Innishfree Rock Festival has established itself as one of the best independent music festivals in the country – certainly none can boast of a better location! - a short ferry trip off Burtonport, Co. Donegal, Innishfree Island is an escape from reality, to somewhere and some-thing quite special. Populated by one man and a saxophone with a few animals, the island is a perfect backdrop for the essentially rare Festival.
TAMPORA - The Ultimate PANTERA Tribute band and the IRISH SLIPKNOT play The Zoo Club, 40 Parliament Street, Kilkenny for an UNDERGROUND gig on Sunday July 1 at 4pm.
Those of you that heard Tampora the last time they played Kilkenny no well that these guys are a serious band and from what I hear the Slipknot (Skinticket) guys are just as good - they even have the original masks and instruments.
The show is expected to be a big one so it is advised that you arrive early to secure a place. Entry is €10.
This gig is an ALL AGES GIG and there will be a bar for over 18's.
