About me:
I'm thrilled to bits to announce the next Brighton on Brighton photography exhibition will be at the Prince Albert during the Brighton Festival Fringe in May. Five great local photographers and me will be exhibiting photography of music in Brighton and you're all welcome!
The Fringe programme was launched on March 19th and you can see our listing on the top of page 68 and http://www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk/ticketing/listing.aspx?ev=791&et=23&ed=4336, but here's more.
First, I'm stoked that DarkDaze has agreed to take time away from creating glamour / horror studio-scapes and teaching lighting courses at his Garage Studios base to show off some of his recent musical related captures. He's likely to include some of his recent cover shoots for Brighton's The Source magazine and maybe some exclusives!
Alongside that I'm equally pleased that gentleman adventurer, broadcaster and picturemaker Toby Amies will be showing off his unique portraits of fellow local freaks and musical eccentrics.
Fresh from covering the Maccabees for March's Artrocker, Mike Burnell will no doubt bring some great live rock action captured from around the city's venues.
When not playing poker, Nikki Acott makes noise and photographs. For Brighton on Brighton she'll bring portraits of other noiseniks making abstract shit in local living spaces.
Lo-fi musician Sam Collins of Mid-West Blues played live at the launch of Brighton on Brighton first exhibition at Juice 107.2. He's also a uniquely individual photographer and will deliver some lo-fi visual wonders.
And I'll be bringing a new series of black and white prints of live music scenes seen in Brighton over the last year that includes Brighton on Brighton's lead image of Brakes.
Details of the exhibition's launch and another event to be held during the Fringe will be announced closer to the time.
In the meantime do check our tumblr page (http://brightononbrighton.tumblr.com) for links to all the photographers. Regular updates and links to related combinations of photography, music and Brighton will feature and - not always in that order!
