back in the summer of 2003 pat moran(guitar) and dan ditto(drums) decied to start a new brutal band in the gatecity area of idaho. originallly these two strated writing music with just an average sized practice amp and an electronic drum machine. pat would write all the riffs for the songs and asstablish some structure, then dan would put the beats to them. after about 3 months they decided to take this project up to the next level and started writing music with real equipment. soon after writing a few songs they went on a serch for a vokillist and a second guitarist to thicken shit up. we all knew a perfect person for the second guitar part, our very good freind etch. we all knew etch could bring alot to neckbrace. at the time dan was drumming in a side hardcore band called omerta. his good freind nick also happend to sing for omerta as well. dan asked nick if he would like to try out for this new band pat and himself had put together. nick listened, he loved it and joined. we then recurited good freind gary pappas. gary played alot of shows and was a great bass player but ended up leaving for personal reasons.unfortantly due to his previous commitment with his other band MORN THE LOSS etch also had to resign his spot in neckbrace, etch was the cowriter of alot of neckbraces earlier material. we played a few shows without a bass player. fortunataly we found a new bass player that filled the gap perfect dave stevens (bass). we recored our first real 6 song demo at mikes music with a great man named dan and ever since then neckbrace has been playing shows and building a local fan base that has been nothing but all out supportive. all the kids that go to the shows we fucking love you.
