HELLO. So it looks like we had to edit a myspace profile. We were reluctant for quite some time. Then a friend of ours did it for us, thinking he was doing us a favour. I, Nico, have to apologize to him for bitching at him on some forums. So all right then, let's play at myspace. Please understand that this is not a way to reach NED (sorry for the term!) "professionally". Social networking has been the way of working in the underground network the D.I.Y way for years and we will continue the way we allways did. Friends! Thanks for being in our network, you know who you are. Please don't be like most of the people in this community, don't be too cheezy and ego-centered. And don't use the comment page to promote your own stuff. That's lame.

NED existe sous la forme de trio depuis 1998. Des premières cassettes artisanales à la création de SK records, leur musique n'a cessé d'évoluer au fil des enregistrements, des rencontres, des tournées et ce toujours dans un esprit DO IT YOURSELF.
Du noise punk bordélique des débuts, le trio s'est ouvert à des influences de plus en plus différentes. Mélangeant au noisen'roll des débuts, des relents de blues et de groove tordu, des concepts anti-musicaux et du bon vieux rock n'roll, NED a trouvé sa façon de se marcher, toujours à la limite du déséquilibre, histoire de ne plus savoir sur quel pied danser.
Le love off!!! E.P sort en 2001 et montre les aspects les plus bruts du groupe. Il est enregistré en quelques jours, dans une cave avec les moyens du bord. L'énergie est urgente et jubilatoire
Un split avec DOPPLeR suit peu après pour accompagner leur tournée commune en république Tchèque et Allemagne. Et NED y enregistre son morceau le plus 'pop'
En août 2002, le premier véritable album est enregistré au studio OFF YA TREE à Hambourg (Allemagne) par Heiko Lindner et Henry Lafrenz. Le son est plus discipliné grâce à la rigueur de leurs techniciens allemands
2003 marque la rencontre avec le label Jason R qui édite un split 10" avec NED et OHARU pour marquer une tournée française.
NED a en 7 ans d'existence fait environs 500 concerts en Europe et en France dans des pays tels que L'Angleterre, l'Ecosse, les Pays-Bas, l'Allemagne, le Danemark, la République Tchèque, L'Autriche, la Suisse, l'Italie, la Slovénie, la Croatie et la France. Partageant l'affiche avec de nombreuses formations françaises ou internationales comme LADDIO BOLLOCKO, NOMEANSNO, GUAPO, SABOT, BLONDE REDHEAD,BASTARD, ULAN BATOR, MELT BANANA, OXBOW, PSYCHIC PARAMOUNT, EXPLOSION IN THE SKY, DON CABALLERO ... ************************************
NED was found in a junkyard close to Lyon, France in 1998. Since then, nobody could ever answer this terrible question:
Why?
From the first self-produced cassettes to the creation of SK records, the music of NED has allways been evolving through the recording sessions, people they met and tours they've done. All in a D.I.Y spirit. From the early noisepunk, the trio opened to more diverse influences. Mixing now the former soup with swampy blues, cracky rythms, brutal anti-music concepts with always a taste for catchy melodies.
The love off!!! E.P is out in 2001 and shows the most crude aspects of the band; Recorded in a basement for very cheap, this first record shows a urgent and exhuberant energy.
A split single with Doppler shortly follows to illustrate their first common european tour. NED records their most 'poppy' song to date.
In august 2002, the first full-lenght album is recorded at OFF YA TREE tudios in Hamburg, Germany by Heiko lindner and Henry Lafrenz. The sound is more professionnal and accurate but the style is allways as personal and sophisticated. 2003 is the first collaboration with Jason R. records which releases a split 10'' with OHARU to document their common french tour.
NED has been doing over 500 shows across Europe in 7 years of existence. They have shared gigs with international acts such as LADDIO BOLLOCKO, NOMEANSNO, GUAPO, SABOT, BLONDE REDHEAD, BASTARD, ULAN BATOR, MELT BANANA, OXBOW, PSYCHIC PARAMOUNT, EXPLOSION IN THE SKY, DON CABALLERO and others.
