Welcome to Needlesoup - a music label focussing on a new wave of fringe music made by weird and wonderful artists that defy simple definitions and pre-moulded genres. The label is artist-focussed, not genre-focussed, so you’ll find us releasing delicacies of experimental electronics, eccentric country, punkadelic folk-rock, psychotic hip-hop, and everything in between, just as long as it's off-kilter, 'outsider music'.... We release very small runs of between 100 and 200 cds and 7"s only without any re-pressings.
The CD sleeves are specially designed using silk-screen prints on watercolour paper so they look and feel as special as the music itself....
Our long-awaited 2nd release, one that we are incredibly excited about, is by the multi-talented The Rebel (aka Ben Wallers, the dynamo behind Country Teasers). The Rebel has honoured us with 5 delectable tracks of intricate lo-fi wit and the Kufr EP features artwork by himself, again silk screen printed on hand-picked paper, a release fit for the Gods (if you happen to believe in those things). The debut release was by the renowned artist Joke Lanz under one of his many guises, Sudden Infant. It's a 3 track EP titled 'Three Puppets' released in 2007 and features some incredibly visceral tracks...
