NEEDMORE, hands down, is currently one of the hardest working musical groups. Originating from Columbus, Ohio in 2006, Garrett McArthur (lead vocals, piano, guitar), and Danny Mareco (lead guitar), have been writing, recording, and performing together ever since. In late 2006, McArthur and Mareco moved to Los Angeles, California, where they heavily played shows in and around Hollywood, to try to establish a name. In very little time, they found themselves playing in front of major record labels at sold out showcases.
In early 2007, while industry professionals really started taking notice, TJ Hartmann (drummer) and Jonathan Beveridge (bassist) joined the band. After many private playing sessions, they signed their first record deal in late 2007 and immediately started writing and recording a record.
Through the process, NEEDMORE recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy winning producer/engineer Wyn Davis (Guns N Roses, Sublime, No Doubt, MuteMath), Grammy nominated Producer Tom Keane (Kanye West, Chicago, Chaka Kahn, Whitney Houston), and Grammy nominated engineer Joe Gastwirt (Pearl Jam, 311, Lifehouse, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan), and released the record world-wide with Del-Fi Music Group through Universal Music Group's digital distribution (INgrooves).
After recording their self-titled debut album, they had yet to play their first public live performance (as a quartet). It obviously didn't matter though, which was made abundantly clear as they began to corner the Southern California market of Orange County. A grassroots fan base that started in Huntington Beach, grew into a loyal fan base of 1,000+, show after show!
“We are so very thankful for everyone that would come out and see us every week,” adds bassist Jonathan Beveridge.
After igniting a fire in Southern California, they decided to relocate to Ohio, in order to start other fires in completely different areas of the country. They're glad they made the move, because their fan base is growing exponentially by the day, throughout the entire mid-west. When you throw a multi-level, online marketing campaign into the mix (that they do ON THEIR OWN), you're bound to get a "mob-like" following around the country as well as on several different international social networking websites!
NEEDMORE was named the Number 1 Alternative Rock band by MTV and AOL MUSIC's "Ourstage" in 2010, as well as a top 10 finish two consecutive times in 2008 and 2009! NEEDMORE has also garnered over 7.5 MILLION spins on the social networking phenomenon MySpace Music; accruing thousands upon thousands of spins per day. Working very closely with TV & Film has also allowed NEEDMORE to acquire placements of their songs in major motion pictures (20th Century Fox, Lakeshore Entertainment) as well as on soundtracks joining the likes of many accomplished and successful names in the music industry.
NEEDMORE is not just a great recording artist though, they pride themselves on their LIVE performance. The members of NEEDMORE have played in many venues across the world (from the world famous "Hollywood Bowl," to New Years eve celebrations in Mumbai, India [with Nelly Furtado & A.R. Rahman] to national college tours across the country).
They have support major label acts on national tours, as well as headline their own. Recently, NEEDMORE ended two successful headlining national college tours in a row! Their live show is a MUST SEE.
Beyond their relentless touring schedule, NEEDMORE was the number 1 booked act (that didn’t showcase) at the 2009 N.A.C.A. National Entertainment Convention, and has been invited to perform at N.A.C.A. Regional Entertainment Conventions as well. It is now just a matter of time before NEEDMORE is a household name.
