Wow... just wow. The crew at Nefarious Press has been breaking their effing backs and issue 1 of their highly anticipated new comic project looks awesome!

I've had the privledge of reading the first issue and all I have to say is holy sweet baby Jesus. If you love mythology, if you love Lovecraft, if you love the prolific storytelling of David then you will love this book.

I have been trying to persuade the powers that be to release some images here as we await a new website rebuild for next year's SDCC. So with any hope maybe within the next couple of weeks you will all get a taste of what I'm talking about.

The new book is penned as a 4-issue mini series. and will make a nice graphic novel once finished.

Exciting update #2... we have hired our colorist. The newest title is on the move, issue one in full production mode. David reports in that the script for issue 2 is drafted and in rewrite stage. So things are finally picking up here.

Our first fully inked, fully colored page is in the can and looks amaszing. I can't wait to show you all. But for now you will have to just trust me ;-)

Well it's been a while since I updated... Very exciting news on the Nefarious Press front. We hired a new Artist to pencil/ink David's newest story (yet to be named). This story is by far his best one showing that practice does improve ones skill. This is his 4th title he has worked on and along with the new creative team it looks to be his best. more details on that later, but what I can say is the art is AMAZING!

We are planning on a strong push for the 2008 San Diego Comic Con. We are throwing all those silly publishers to the wind and taking out titles under our own wing. So with any luck you can stop by our booth in 2008 and pick up graphic novels (you heard me correctly) of Synthetics, Drakan and the newest title (yet to be named).

Ok I'm sure you are getting sick and tired of the "yet to be named" part... so I will give you a little taste. It involves mythology, a hunt, the end of the world and a sprinkle of .... you don't really think I'm going to give it all away do you.

Anyways stay tuned the next 8 months are going to be insane!

Hey Matt let me first answer that question. Yes and No (how's that for ambiguous). We will be there but we might not have a booth. Here's the deal we ran into a minor snag (well major actually) Dimond didn't accept our Synthetics submission. So we are currently thinking of plan B. Which at this point is pure speculation. We will not give up on Nefarious Press nor our dreams of publishing our books to the mainstream. But for now the path we were on just led us to a dead end so its time to take some steps backwards, collect our creative powers and try something new.

In other great news the writing staff (ala David and Jorge) have been in talks about some new and exiting titles so with any luck we might have a fresh title to share with you all.

As for the future of the Synthetics we are finishing the colors on books 5-8 and once that's done we plan on collecting them into two graphic novels: book 1 representing issues 1-4 and Book 2 representing issues 5-8.

Luckily David wrote these as two story arcs so the story will fit perfectly into this format. I'm hoping once that is done we can sell Books 1 and 2 on the website (which is under construction) and at conventions.

Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you all. David and Jorge have been in hidding ever since they got word back from Diamond, they just now are resurfacing into civilization. :-)

I DEMAND TO SEE THE COVER OF SYNTHETICS #3!!!
Sebastian Cain

Jan 6 2007 12:08 AM

I've seen the cover of Synthetics issue 3 and I have to say gawd-damn it's good! :-)

I'm in the process of getting the tall goofy looking guy to allow our My Space pimp to post here for all to see.

On the publishing front we are anxiously awaiting to hear if Diamond will have us in their catalog. So it would be great if you all could pray to whichever god you pray to or sacrifice whatever lamb needs sacrificing to help get us in.

I'll keep you posted.

"You crazy Nefarious guys are so hot mmm comic book guys"

That reminds me of a line from the movie "Silence of the Lambs"

Buffalo Bill looks in a mirror and says:

"Would you ~f~ me? I'd ~f~ me. I'd ~f~ me hard."

A little rabbit has told me that the Nefarious Press Train is back on track and moving along. So keep patient, with any luck issue 3 should be making a debut soon. (of course soon is a relative term in the comic book industry if indy publishers) :-)
