"Negus Mesih" is a magazine edited by the Ministry of Publishings, Information and Education of the Permanent Assembly of Rastafari in Italy. The title of this project naturally reflects its underlining purposes: in the ancient language of Ethiopia (Gi'iz) the expression Negus Mesih is in fact a reference to the personality of the King Messiah described in the Holy Bible (Metzhaf Q'ddus), the Anointed and Deliverer that Igziabher the Almighty had to send in the appointed time to intervene in the course of history and redeem humankind from its wrong paths. The doctrine of Rastafari is thus centered on the fundamental knowledge that the King of Kings of Ityopia Qadamawi Haile Sellassie is this same King Messiah predicted in the Bible, i.e. the same Iyasus Krestos (Jesus Christ) already incarnated in Israel 2000 years ago, but according to whom it was said by His own Apostled and Disciples that He would come again with a new Name as a glorious King from the seed of David. Accordingly, this newsletter aims: to deepen issues of theological, scriptural/Biblical, historical and cultural relevance pertaining to our Livity, or Sacred Experience of Life; to enlighten the ways this same Revelation of the King of Kings was manifested to the eyes of human beings; finally, with the words of the Lord King Himself, "to share what life has taught Us with those who want to learn". According to the Holy Word of King Messiah, InI do trust that "these are crucial times, when nations rise against nations, tensions increase and disaster is possible at any moment"; these are times when InI must realize that "the salvation of our Countries [..] lies primarily in education", this latter being the only way to maintain a condition of peace and unity amongst people. "Knowledge paves the way to love, and love in its turn fosters understanding, and leads one along the path of great common achievements". Because of this, InI pray to be blessed by contributing, throughout this work, to the spiritual, moral and livity (existential) development and growth of RastafarI brethren, so to effectively become as living stones of that spiritual house which is InI task to re-establish.

"Negus Mesih" è una rivista periodica a cura del Ministero dell'Editoria, dell'Informazione e dell'Istruzione dell'Assemblea Permanente Rastafariani in Italia. Il titolo del progetto riflette ovviamente gli intenti che lo motivano: in etiopico antico (Gi'iz), l'espressione Negus Mesih indica infatti la personalità del Re Messia cui si fa riferimento nella Bibbia, Antico e Nuovo Testamento, il Consacrato e Liberatore che Dio avrebbe inviato nei tempi stabiliti per intervenire nel corso della storia e riconciliare a Sé l'umanità deviata. La dottrina Rastafari si incentra sulla presa di coscienza che il Re dei Re d'Etiopia Qadamawi Haile Sellassie sia questo stesso Re Messia biblicamente preannunciato, ossia lo stesso Iyasus Krestos (Gesù Cristo) già manifestatosi sulla terra 2000 anni fa, ma del quale gli Apostoli ed i discepoli avevano predetto un futuro secondo avvento in veste di Re glorioso della stirpe di Davide e con un Nome Nuovo. Coerentemente al titolo che porta, la newsletter Negus Mesih sorge allora con l'intento di affrontare ed approfondire questioni teologiche, scritturistiche (bibliche), storiche e culturali riguardanti la nostra Livity (Sacra Esperienza di Vita); di portare alla luce i termini, espliciti ed impliciti, in cui la suddetta Rivelazione del Re dei Re Qadamawi Haile Selassie si è manifestata agli occhi degli uomini; e in ultima istanza, secondo le stesse parole del Signore, di "condividere ciò che la vita Ci ha insegnato con coloro i quali vorranno imparare". In accordo con le parole del Cristo, InI crede che "questi siano tempi cruciali, poichè nazioni insorgono contro nazioni, le tensioni aumentano e il disastro è possibile in ogni momento"; sono questi tempi in cui occorre realizzare che "la salvezza dei nostri Paesi [..] giace primariamente nell'educazione", la sola strada per mantenere una condizione di pace e unità fra i popoli. "E' la conoscenza che pavimenta la strada dell'amore, e l'amore a sua volta aiuta a sviluppare la comprensione, e guida lungo la strada dei grandi comuni successi". Per questo, InI prega di poter contribuire attraverso questo lavoro allo sviluppo e alla crescita spirituale, morale ed esistenziale dei fratelli e delle sorelle Rastafariani, per poter diventare realmente pietre viventi dell'edificio spirituale che è compito di InI restaurare.
