NEGUS TAFARI
Negus Tafari se forma en octubre del ao 2002, esta conformada en su actualidad por 7 integrantes, los mismos que crecieron desde su niez en el distrito de brea en Lima-Per, y es ah donde escuchando canciones del gran Bob Marley y Peter Tosh , donde comienza su romance con la msica reggae.
Negus Tafari no se define en un solo estilo dado que la msica siempre tiene mucho por descubrir en ella, por eso la banda puede sonar roots, rock reggae y hasta dancehall lo mas importante para la banda es que el mensaje que trae llegue y suene en los diferentes gustos del publico que asiste masivamente a sus conciertos.
Las influencias de la banda principalmente vienen del clsico reggae roots jamaiquino, estilo del reggae que tiene como mximo exponente al profeta Bob Marley, asi como a Peter Tosh, Israel Vibration, Jacob Miller, Dennis Brown, Burning spears entre otras leyendas del reggae mundial. Asi como tambien por reggae dancehall que es el estilo mas actual del reggae jamaiquino, con artistas como la gran banda Steel pulse, y cantantes como Capleton, Sizzla, Turbulence, Richie Spice los cuales son las mximas estrellas de reggae en la actualidad, es por esto que Negus Tafari a diferencia de otras bandas se caracteriza por tener un claro sonido a reggae original jamaiquino, como solo las bandas rastas lo saben tocar.
El nombre de la banda traducido del amrico al castellano significa rey de la creacin el cual es uno de los ttulos que se le dan a su majestad imperial Haile Selassie I Jah Rastafari de Etiopa al momento de su coronacin el 2 de noviembre de 1930, al cual los hermanos rastafaris de todo el mundo lo reconocen como dios, padre de la creacin, raz de David y luz de este mundo, el dios que mora en los corazones de estos 7 hermanos los cuales le dedican su devocin total al igual que su trabajo musical.
Las canciones de la banda hablan acerca de las distintas situaciones que enfrenta un rastaman en Babilonia (sistema opresor), asi como tambin del amor en todas sus manifestaciones, y de la liberacin mental del hombre sometido a la esclavitud por el mismo hombre en la actualidad, su msica es un fuerte latigazo a la impunidad, el racismo y las diferencias sociales entre otros temas que son de preocupacin en el mundo en estos tiempos.
Negus Tafari tiene una extensa experiencia en los escenarios locales, desde su primer concierto el 22 de abril del 2003, en la discoteca bunker en lima, ha tocado en muchos conciertos y festivales en contra del racismo y a favor de los nios de escasos recursos, asi como tambin ha tenido participacin con artistas internacionales de la talla de Fidel Nadal de Argentina (ex vocalista de todos tus muertos y Lumunba); Jah pablo de Argentina (ex vocalita de Abed Nego y todos tus muertos), Oskar T de Chile (ex vocalista de la banda Hnos Tanaka) los cuales actualmente siguen sus carreras como solistas con mucho xito en la escena reggae internacional. De esta manera Negus Tafari ha ido ganndose el aprecio y respeto de sus seguidores dentro y fuera del pas.
El 18 de noviembre del 2005 Negus Tafari presento su mas reciente disco que lleva por titulo demolicin, en la discoteca etnias del centro de la capital peruana, teniendo un gran xito en la asistencia del publico como en las ventas del CD en ese mismo da.
Actualmente la banda viene promocionando su material en radios y escenarios del Per, y prepara la reedicin del mismo disco la cual contara esta vez con dos temas nuevos y un video en vivo para el gusto de los amantes del reggae en todo el mundo.
