I am going to go for honesty here. I love sports. Playing, watching, the fantasy variety, all are good. I think I am going to start playing basketball again soon. I haven't decided if I am old enough to be the white guy that wears knee pads and goggles yet. As mentioned before, I read way too much. I enjoy watching TV and movies. I like to be social sometimes. During these times, you can usually catch me at a dive bar rather than a club. I even pick up a pen and write something on occasion. Travel is allright.

Books
My favorite author of all time is John Irving. I really can't pick a favorite by him because I love every word he writes. Pat Conroy is a solid second. Malcolm Gladwell is an absolute genius. He writes about complex, sciency stuff in a manner I can understand. I think Nick Hornby is the funniest writer today, and enjoy all the things he writes. "The White Boy Shuffle", by Paul Beatty might be the best book I ever read. "Lamb" by Christopher Moore, is one of the funniest. I am making an effort to read some contemporary serious novelists this year. Among them, Augusten Burroughs, Jonathan Franzen, Michael Chabon, Jonathan Safron Foer. I'll let you know how it goes. As for the classics, you really can't go wrong with JD Salinger, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway (well maybe Hemingway), Mark Twain or even Shakespeare if you have the time for it.
For sports writers, I really enjoy Bill Simmons and DJ Gallo. And whenever Paul Shirley writes anything, it is usually really good.
About me: My New Years Resolution is to become more pretentious. I am already quite arrogant and vain (my vanity has not decreased even after I became bald and out of shape, amazing really). I feel if I can add pretention to that triumverate, I can become the complete asshole package. Until I improve on my pretention, I am going to have to walk that thin line between pretentiousness and smugness (harder than you think).
Note: Remainder of profile written before completing goal of total pretention.
I come from New Jersey, but now live in San Diego. Along the way, I had stops in South Carolina and Louisiana (can't really recommend either one). I used to have cancer, but I don't anymore. Hopefully, the experience affected me in the requisitely positive areas, but that is up for interpretation. I work for a toy comapany. It is a really fun job. I wouldn't completely compare it to the movie, Big, but I almost always go home with a smile on my face. I read way too much. I understand that it is important to educate yourself, but when you can't eat without reading, it gets a little ridiculous. I don't remember anything that I learned in college, but I have a borderline photographic memory when it comes to movies and sports. I used to be a championship drinker (with a belt and everything), but have lost most of my ability. I also really like to group things into a top 5.
Who I'd like to meet: This is where I am supposed to wow everyone by selecting people who reveal my inner wit and charm. Unfortunately, I have neither.
St Pattys falls on a monday this year so I will be off. We all know california people dont know how to do st pattys so I think you should come stay with me and I will claim the belt in every irish pub in manhattan.
Thanks for flying all the way out. I hope you had a good time. You certainly looked like you did. I think you lost most of your clothing by the end of the reception.
Hey Toddalicious! Miss you! Hope you are safe with the fires. We evacuated, but are home safe now. I need drinks PRONTO to calm my fire-singed nerves! You down??
