Neil has been playing guitar since a very early age, throughout his younger days playing in school bands and progressing to touring Scotland. He filled in the days between gigs with teaching classical and rock guitar, this has now turned into a full time job working 6 days a week. As well as still performing at pubs, clubs and weddings as a two piece band called JumpStart a fantastic band that gets everyone singing along as well as dancing, watching Neil on lead guitar is entertainment in its self.
As a classicly trained musician Neil is often booked for weddings, from your traditional white wedding, playing the bride down the isle or entertaining the guests at a champagne reception, right through to a medieval wedding with guests in costume , amazing.
Since i met Neil in 2001 he has been working on recording his first cd Medieval Classic Melodies which was released in 2005 and sold locally and has been downloaded over 11000 times on itunes .This cd proved such a success that Neil returned to the studio in 2007/8 and recorded a 2nd cd Crystal Waters inspired by nature. Composed by himself except 3 of the tracks, one vocal track, with Martin Jenkins on vocals performing a song that was written by Martin and origanily recorded by themselves over ten years ago.( 8 Angels) A new version of the same song appears on Crystal Waters
Both cds are relaxing and insperational but both very different in style.
Music is Neils natural talent, passion and life and this conveys its self through his guitar playing. His home is a library of cds, vinyl and instruments.
Not a day goes by without music for Neil, wether its in the car, home or playing his own guitar. Neil would not be Neil without music.

.."Crystal Waters" by Neil Dunnachie is largely a classical guitar album with a little folk sprinkled on top. Neil's guitar work on the album is superb and the arrangements are beautiful. The quality of production is intentionally raw and puts you right in the room with Neil. It complements his style well as you get to experience a lot of the rhythmic accents in many of the pieces. Highlights are "Autumn Leaves," which gives you the auditory illusion of leaves falling with top-notch fluttery fingerpicking. "Woodpecker's Beat" features a little body tapping and makes you wonder where that third hand came from. "Angels" features vocals and several well layered guitar tracks. If you like Classical or Folk guitar, you will enjoy this one. ..-William and the RadioIndy. com Reviewer Team Check out Neil Dunnachie's music on RadioIndy. com with link to purchase and links to popular sites
