Whilst FATEA specialises in singer/songwriter, folk, roots, blues and similar, I listen to a wide range of music that incorporates most genres. Top all time band is Blondie, followed by the likes of Ruby Blue, Lone Justice/Maria McKee. The thing I love about music is that there's always new music to hear as well as old favourites to revisit.
I try to get to as many gigs as I can and The Cambridge Folk Festival is the first thing in my calendar every year

Fatea currently publishes two websites, www.fatea-records.co.uk/magazine, a general acoustic/folksongwriter site and www.fatea-records.co.uk/cambrid a site that celebrates our longstanding links with Cambridge Folk Festival
Fatea has access to a number of photographers around the country that we have worked with on a number of shoots and would be happy to recommend for both live and promotional shots

About me: Having been in, written songs for or managed bands in the Poole/Dorset area for a number of years, I founded Fatea at the end of the 80s. Fatea Magazine was published to bring bands being ignored by the likes of NME and Melody Maker to a wider audience.
At it's peak Fatea had a readership of well over ten thousand and had featured literally hundreds of artists within it's pages. It had also released a number of cassette in association with record labels like Cooking Vinyl and Hannibal records. In addition it released a number of flexidiscs on it's own Fatea label.
This was follow by the publication of Music From a New Dimension, the UKs first CD-ROM Based music magazine. Music From A New Dimension released over 30 tracks from a diverse set of artists that included Fish, Roy Harper, June Tabor, The Whiskey Priests, Goats Don't Shave and the Poozies.
Whilst the magazines have ceased production, we now run a couple of websites FATEA Magazine which features singer/songwriters, blues, country, bluegrass and other acoustic orientated genres and www.fatea-records.co.uk/CAMBRID which celebrates our long association with Cambridge Folk Festival.
We are keen to use our sites to help bring inspiring musicians to a wider public forum as well as provide ideas and practical help, such as marketing and photographers to artists looking to gain an understanding of what they need in this area.
Check out our websites and if you like what you see get in touch. We are always keen to review new material and provide help and advice.

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
Hi Neil, not long now until the 2nd of November and Peggy and Mark's joint birthday bash! Amazingly, the full "Ring Around The Land" line-up will be playing, so that's Peggy, PJ, Chris Leslie and yours truly Carolyn and Mark bringing up the rear! It's going to be a real blast, so bring your dancing shoes . . . and they'd better be RED lol! From your Brummie Pals xx
