Leyton is currently at work on the next band album, to be called "ELITE NYLON". It will be released in early 2009.
The Ghosts, who backed Leyton live from 2005 to 2007, were formed in 2005 by Deaf n Dumb Music's Lars Gustafsson, who assembled them as the Swedish backing band for Canadian rock n roll singer/songwriter Neil Leyton. Leyton named his new band before he found out that guitarist Micke Lundin's nickname was, coincidentally, Micke the Ghost.
The band debuted live on tour opening for Diamond Dogs with three shows in May '04, prior to also backing Leyton in the studio in October of the same year for the recording of Leyton's Betrayal of the Self album.
The Ghosts made their UK debut at Camden's Purple Turtle club, during the Leyton "Dead Fashion Brigade" EP launch, which also featured guest guitarist Rich Jones.
Further touring ensued in 2006 throughout Germany, Austria, Slovenia and the Netherlands. Over these tours, Neil Leyton has been very thankful to all his musician friends who have backed him live and made the tours happen, not just the Ghosts, but also Johnny Charmer, George Bettencourt, Turku Romantic Movement, Rich Ragany, Janne Prusti, and Chris McDougall.

Sångaren, låtskrivaren, rock n roll gitarristen och indieskivbolagsentreprenören Neil Leyton beger sig under våren ut på en akustisk turné som bygger på skivan”A Reckoning”. Turnén börjar i Göteborg och följs av spelningar i Tyskland. ”A Reckoning” är en akustisk känslostorm, som Neil Leyton skrev, spelade in och släppte – på tio dagar! Skivan spelades in i Neils kök och sovrum i London efter den senaste elektriska turnén i november. Den innehåller 10 nya låtar, varav fyra stycken skrevs på flygbussarna Stockholm/Arlanda, och en Kevin Quain cover. Den blev varmt hyllad för den personliga och intima kvalitén. Karismatisk, personlig, politisk – helt fantastisk rock n roll. Missa inte denna ljuva aprilkväll med Leyton och hans gitarr!
