But....THE PULPIT

My computer crashed so I've lost my pulpit files. Can you send me an audio (without vocals) version of You Wont' Get Far...because I've written new lyrics and it's now called 'Get Intimate, Idiot'. It's far more superior...

I'd write a longer reply...but i have Irish again tomorrow. We will just have to see how the voting goes.

But to clarify I don't mean Sweden became liberal because of the EU. I'm saying Ireland was a very backward society before it joined the EU. Only when it joined did it have to give equal pay to women. Simple things like that have moved Ireland forward. And a large bulk of the infastructure projects in Ireland have been and are being funded by the EU.

I'm sorry but the EU has been incredibly important in liberalising and moving Ireland forward. Simple examples such as forcing Ireland to give equal pay and rights to women and legalising homosexuality are to name just a few. I can't recall the specifics but on TV3 pretty much the same was said to Joe Higgins. And he completely frooze. Because he knew it was right. What about all these EU funded projects aswell, are they not significant?

China is building itself up and so is Russia. The price of Oil is of course skyrocketing. Which is increasing the probability of conflict. So I believe the EU should be united and be well capable of defending itself. Of course I don't want to see wars or stuff like that. But I do believe that there is a growing threat coming from the countries around the EU and I believe solidarity is important.

To make up a silly example do you believe if England was attacked that Ireland should just remain neutral and passive? I believe it's really important for Europe to be united.

And I'm not saying what the states did in Afghanistan was correct but I thought to use that as an example for why invading other countries was a bad thing was pretty ridicolous.

But I'm still not convinced. Not one argument can change me. All the reasons for voting 'No' are based on presumptions really. Like all these people are going on about how Irish workers will be vulnerable. Yet SIPTU endorses it? Why are all the major parties saying 'yes' and just the usual anti this and anti that saying 'no'. They had the same scaremongering for the Nice Treaty. And I havn't seen any negative effects of that so far.

Those quotes have no impact anymore. Every single 'No' fyler and pamphlet which has been popped into my letterbox uses them. I've read each group/politicians arguments thoroughly and their arguments are absoloute rubbish.

They proclaim that it will millitarise Europe more and you know what, get this. If a European country is attacked the E.U states will have to assist it. Horrible thing isn't it? Imagine us getting bombed and all the EU nations helping us. Unbearable.

What's this aswell, the treaty will allow them to use a similar excuse that the US used to invade Afghanistan. Disgraceful! Can you imagine, invading a similar country to one of the worlds most tyrannical, brutal, savage and supressive regiemes, The Taliban.

What exactly is wrong with a strong military network? Russia is starting to show its might and so is China. Any sane person should only support a well organised European defensive system. People seem to think the EU are going to go "Hey...we don't like Iceland, let's invade and kill em' all".

Have you read Joan Collins letter? It's awful and comprised of amateurism. What sort of rubbish is this statement, "Do you want more of the same EU...basic charges for water and bins?". I mean what stupidity. The EU has given such a great amount to Ireland and I find that insulting. She is just trying to reach out to the less well off by going "Hey look you gotta pay for this".

They also state that France and the Dutch rejected it. No they didn't. Not the Libson treaty. It's incredibly similar but why does the 'No' side have to distort the facts and not make the distinction?

I'm sure Ireland will reject it because unfortunately with the gloom and doom about the economy and how Lisbon will make us lose all our jobs and all.

Really love Ray's Lyrics---
I miss the village green,
And all the simple people.
I miss the village green,
The church, the clock, the steeple.
I miss the morning dew, fresh air and sunday school.

And now all the houses
Are rare antiquities.
American tourists flock to see the village green.
They snap their photographs and say gawd darn it,
Isnt it a pretty scene?
And daisys married tom the grocer boy,
And now he owns a grocery.
