Hey Neal, thank you for accepting the friendship! I know you from Whitesnake, and you played with Brian May's solo album and recently with Michael Schenker.  I kind of grew up with your bass playing! Hope you'll find some time to check out my songs. Cheers, AV

I very much agree with the sentiments in your current status message regarding the decline of MySpace. I'm very rarely here anymore for the reasons you state. Change can be good; but not without rhyme, reason or rhythm. -- keep rockin' :-)

Hey Neil - are you receiving me? I avoid MySpace, FaceBook and all that, but wanted to say hi - hope this finds you well. Too late to invite you to the gig I played with Chris Cutler and John Greaves the other day, but I'd like to send you a copy of my memoir, a glorified pamphlet really, a torrent of blab abt the past, in which you figure. Better if you email me: peter@blegvad.co.uk
    Best wishes,

About me:

Neil Murray - Bass Guitar

My main job is bass-player in the band for the very successful musical of Queen songs, We Will Rock You, in the Dominion Theatre in London, which I've done since 2002.

I've been playing professionally since 1974 with bands and musicians such as Brian May, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, Peter Green, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Sting just to mention a few. I've played on dozens of albums, sales of which exceed 10 million units, and has toured extensively all over the world.

I was the bass-player in Whitesnake from the band's beginnings in 1978 until 1986, apart from a period playing with Gary Moore in 1982-3. I played on all of the early Whitesnake albums up to and including '1987', and I think my melodic basslines are a feature of the classic Whitesnake songs.

I was also a member of Black Sabbath for about 3 years in the late 80s and mid-90s, and am also known for being a member of Brian May's touring and recording band, as well as working with many other famous rock musicians over the years.

I also toured and recorded for 7 years with M3 Classic Whitesnake which included ex-Whitesnake guitarists Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody, plus Bernie Marsden's own trio, and I am also part of guitarist Rolf Munkes's Empire project.

I've performed with Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor at such events as the Queen's Jubilee Party in 2002 at Buckingham Palace and at Luciano Pavarotti's annual concert in Modena, Italy, and in October 2008 I stood in for touring bassist Danny Miranda on two Queen + Paul Rodgers' shows on their UK tour.

Other artists I've worked with live or in the studio include Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Rodgers, Robert Palmer, Scorpions, Jimmy Barnes, Ian Gillan, Ozzy Osbourne, John Martyn, Bruford, Graham Bonnet, Randy California, Allan Holdsworth and many others.
