Life is always beyond comprehension and we can never predict or know what is in store for us. Your life in particular Neil, to go from the happiness & success to the utter tragic devastation and to be where you are now, brings hope to us all. So although they are belated, my very warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to you and your good lady on the birth of your baby daughter Olivia. Maybe a Rush lullaby could be in the offing?! :-)
Neil, please listen to Nick. Now would be the best time to bring back the concept album. I think Rush ran far away from them long enough. The fans by and large are accepting of all explorations and evolutions of the band, but the music that is held most dear are the epics like 2112 and Hemispheres; songs that clearly were a cut above the simple satisfaction of a 5 minute song. Dream Theater never went away from the epics, and frankly I see no reason Rush can't still do it either. The fans would go ballistic! I know I would for sure. Nick Raskulinecz will cheer you on. He's great! Listen to him. And besides, you need another challenge. :)
To Neil Peart my number one favorite drummer. I've been wanting to talk to you about selecting drumsets for use of the band I'm in. The one I'm using right now is a slingerland drumset with 3 toms all have remo a pacific snare drum and a pacific hi hat. 7 symbols I have is a 2 crash symbols, a small and a mediem splash and I also have a china and a ride symbol with a a black bell in the center of the symbol so I can have a high pitchedb ting in it. The band I'm in is called False Hope and We only have one drumset for use right now soon to get another one. We play rock punk and metal music and I'm wanting to know from your opinion what brand of drumset I should look at for sound
