Neisy Wilson is a Cuban jazz singer, pianist and composer. She started to study music at age of 7, and during her teens was a member of diverse choral groups, to the time that made performances like a pianist in a Latin American music international festivals that were take place in her born city: Santiago de Cuba. In 1998 she moves to Havana, Cuba, to study musical composition in the High Institute of Arts.
She has obtained prizes like a singer and composer in several editions of the “Jojazz” Contest, and has annually been invited to the event “Women in the Jazz”, that is celebrate every year in the prestigious Havana Jazz Club: “La Zorra y el Cuervo”. During the years 2001 and 2002 she was take part of “Lemanacuba” project, with some musicians of “Irakere” band and students of the High Institute of Arts and the National School of Arts, making tours by several cities of France. In this period she was alternates that work with her participation in the Latin jazz fusion band: “Mezcla”, directed by the North American musician Pablo Menendez, like a singer and pianist, making international and national tours (Jazz Festival in Saint Marteen, International Jazz Festival (Jazz Plaza. Havana, Cuba), Jazz Festival “Coco Fest” (Cayo Coco, Cuba) and International Jazz Festival in Barranquilla, Colombia. She also was performing with this band continuously in a several Jazz Clubs in Havana.
At the end of 2002 she participated like singer and pianist in the tribute that the High Institute of Arts offered to Sir George Martin, remarkable British musician, and producer of mythical quartet The Beatles, during his visit to Cuba. At the end of 2003 and until 2006 she collaborated with the percussionist Alejandro Mayor, creating the Latin jazz trio “Gala Mayor”, doing performances in jazz clubs in Havana, Cuba, and touring in Honduras.
At the same time, in 2004 she was selected, to perform the musical works finalists of SGAE (Spanish Society of Composers) Latin Jazz Contest 2004, in Havana, Cuba. She also was participating in other concerts celebrated at the International Jazz Festival (Jazz Plaza, 2004), sharing scene with the great Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes.
In June of 2005 she was graduates in the specialty of Musical Composition in the High Institute of Arts with a maximum qualification.
During the years 2006 until 2009 she was working as a singer and pianist in Jordan, Egypt and United Arab Emirates.
In the month of February of 2008, she has been chosen one of the best 5 top singers, in an online contest “Singers Universe Magazine”, and her music is now currently broadcasting for an important radio's online like: “Radio Indy”, “The Songwriter's Network”, “Indie Life Radio” and “Uptown Jazz Network”.
Her first independently album "Instantes" it’s available in a music digital stores (itunes, emusic, napster, rhapsody).
Actually located in Canada, she is frequently attending the jam sessions that take place in the “Upstairs Jazz Club” in Montreal.

Hi Neisy, Milly told me the news. Congrats and well done, very brave of you.I met ur Dad in May and sent him another book of his poems I found on Ebay to Cuba with a friend who was visiting.Your Grandma is really really sweet, we shed a tear together.
