In short, Nekkrosis are a group of small minds from a small town, which has nothing to offer. Getting bored with the routine, we decided to put a band together in 2003 for a laugh more than anything else. We were inspired not only by our favourite bands, but also what we wanted to hear our favourite bands do but never did.
As the time passed we realised we had something worthwhile in the band, and began gigging with the material we had. After tightening our sound and becoming more confident in ourselves, we bagged better gigs, and took Rushden extreme metal to a wider audience.
During this time, we managed to catch the attention of metal guru Russ Russell, who has produced and worked with bands such as Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, and many others. After playing him our demo, he agreed to produce and master our debut EP, ’Left To Rot’, so in the beginning of ’05 we entered Orchard Road studios and belted the fucker out.
’Left To Rot’ received good reviews in Terrorizor (7/10) and Rocksound (9/10), and standout track ’Crossgender’ featured on a Terrorizor covermount cd, aswell as being played on the Radio 1 Rock Show. In December ’06 we supported Australian grind merchants The Berzerker on a 14 day tour of the UK and Ireland, and received a good reception.
2007 was a bleak year for the band, starting with a large amount of equipment getting stolen. Then due to a lack of interest and desire to concentrate on other things in his life, vocalist Dan parted ways with the band.
We managed to find a replacement in old friend Jamie Stuart, ex-vocalist of Desolate and Skullseige. He came to the studio with us and recorded half of our upcoming album ’Technotic Subversion’, but due to personal reasons he also had to part ways with the band.
Now we are continuing to blast away as a four peice, and vocalist Griff is re - writing the new material to suit one vocal. The albums recording will be finished in february, and we will be back gigging like fuck anywhere and everywhere 2008. If you like it very fast, very slow, and always very fucking heavy, come see us and give your neck some fuckin shit!
