Le frequenze di una radio si alternano, sino a fermarsi sulle note di una musica d'opera. Intanto un telefono squilla, invano. Il suo suono cresce, si trasforma nel reattore di un aereo, così comincia il viaggio.
Osserviamo la metropoli dall'alto, ci caliamo tra le nuvole che avvolgono le cime dei grattacieli e poi sempre più giù, lungo vicoli e viali. Edifici, monumenti, automobili in corsa, migliaia di persone in moto continuo. Ancora una volta il telefono squilla, la stessa musica d'opera fa da sottofondo. Delle voci si fanno tormento, i ritmi si placano, tutto volge alla fine. "Non cè più nessuno", sussurra un uomo al telefono e cala il tramonto sulla città di Parigi.
IL N'Y A PLUS PERSONNE
The radio frequencies alternates, lingering on the notes of some opera music. The phone is ringing in the meantime, in vain. The sound is growing, turning into a plane reactor, so that the journey begins.
Observing the metropolis from above, we come down into the clouds wrapping the skyscrapers' tops and down once more, along alleys and avenues. Buildings, monuments, cars at a run, thousands of people in a perpetual motion. Once more the phone is ringing, accompained by the same opera music as background. Some voices become torment, rhytms calm down, everything comes to an end. “There is no one here”, whispers a man on the phone and the sun sets on the city of Paris.
SANTAFANTA è una performance live audiovisiva che inscena lo scontro tra la caotica dimensione urbana e la calma intatta della natura.
In tempo reale il montaggio di immagini, accompagnato da suoni elettronici e psichedelici, produce una tensione crescente che culmina in una visione apocalittica: un’enorme montagna di rifiuti. L’occhio di una telecamera scruta il pubblico, si sofferma sullo sguardo preoccupato della gente. Siamo noi i responsabili di tutto questo?
La melodia di un carillon e il lieve cadere di una pioggia evocano qualcosa di familiare, legato ai ricordi, ad un passato che forse lascia intravedere un barlume di speranza.
SANTAFANTA is an audio-visual performance that stages the conflict between the chaotic urban dimension and the untouched calmness of nature. In real time, the images editing, going with electronic and psychedelic sounds, creates an ever increasing tension that culminate in apocalyptic vision: a huge mountain of rubbish. The eyeshot peers at the public, lingering on the worried looks of people. Are we responsible for all this? Carillon melody and the light rain falling evoke something familiar, bound to our memories, to a past that barely let us catch sight glimmer of hope.

NellaTestaGomma è un gruppo itinerante che si cimenta in live performance audiovisive e nella realizzazione di installazioni sonore e video.
L’idea è quella di fondere insieme immagini in movimento, musica e suoni lungo un tessuto narrativo carico di suggestioni, affrontando temi come: l’individuo e la collettività, la natura, la modernità, la paura, lo smarrimento, la ricerca di un ambiente familiare.
NellaTestaGomma ha realizzato per il WWF Lazio la performance AcquaSanta, come evento d’apertura al dibattito sulla giornata mondiale dell’acqua.
La performance SantaFanta è stata selezionata dall’associazione culturale francese Les Pixels Transversaux per la produzione del dvd Vision Sonic 9.
Il gruppo si è esibito alle edizioni 2008 e 2009 del LPM – Live Performers Meeting, che si tiene ogni anno a Roma;
si è esibito alla serata d’ inaugurazione del progetto SPOT, a cura di Adriana Rispoli ed Eugenio Viola, presso il Museo di Arte contemporanea Donna Regina di Napoli;
ha partecipato alla semifinale dell’ Elettrowave Challange 2009 presso il Feedback di Foligno.
NellaTestaGomma ha ottenuto il sostegno del progetto DE. MO. Movin' Up per la realizzazione della performance Il n’y a plus personne, prodotta durante un periodo di residenza a Parigi durato sette giorni e in programmazione ai festival Mal au Pixel e West Digital .
NellaTestaGomma is an itinerary collective venturing in audio video live performances and installations. The main idea is blending together moving images, music and sounds in a narration rich of emotions and excitement and dealing with sensitive issues such as the individual and the comunity, nature, modernity, fear and confusion, the continuos search for a familiar environment.
NellaTestaGomma realized for WWF Lazio the performance AcquaSanta, as opening event of the debate on the World Water Day.
The performance SantaFanta has been selected by the french cultural association Les Pixels Transversaux for the dvd Vision Sonic 9.
NellaTestaGomma participated to LPM – Live Performers Meeting 2008 and 2009, that takes place in Rome every year.

Tasman Richardson striked again with this a/v album composed like a tornado of micro samples. He cuts film like a surgeon cuts bodies to create new species. This creature is like a starving beast, fed by the power of mass media images. Tasman Richardson assembles his work image by image sound by sound generating an apocalyptic ambiance with an extreme accuracy and mastery of rhythm.
This DVD album has been released on the web (you can watch it for free) and as a Video DVD (ISO file) that you can buy for 5 €
