Macy, Robert Downey Jr., etc.
Television
The Shield (I was addicted through the entire seven-season run!) Otherwise it's mostly crap that I grew up with: 90210, Little House on the Prairie, The Brady Bunch, etc. Plus all of the Degrassi franchise, Jeopardy, What Not to Wear, various sixties shows (Ozzie and Harriet, The Dick Van Dyke Show), and certain channels on OnDemand (mostly Something Weird and Tube Time).
Books
I read a lot more nonfiction than fiction, mostly books about pop culture, or true crime stories (The Indiana Torture Slaying is the most haunting true story that I've come across ... but I also love Ann Rule.) When I do read fiction, I like Anne Tyler's books. For the classics, I love John Steinbeck, James Joyce, and Oscar Wilde. What else? Children's books! John Benton's bad girl books (and other guilty pleasures...)
Heroes
My dad, the rest of my family, artists, misfits, and anyone who shows genuine kindness and compassion toward others.
KAOS 89.3 FM (The Think Tank 2001-present; Pining for the Fjords May 2008-January 2009; Radio8Ball 2004-2008; Sister Sound 2001-2004); KXXO 96.1 FM (July 2008-present); KMAS 1030 AM (2004-2008); KGHP 89.9 FM (1995-2001).
About me: I'm a little strange ... but I mean well. I work as a member associate for an environmental nonprofit organization; I'm also an on-call announcer at Mixx 96.1. (Yes, I like both of my jobs!) I've been involved with community radio since my sophomore year of high school -- currently I host and produce The Think Tank (Sundays 10 am-noon), an eclectic pop and songwriter show, on the air since October of 2001. You can hear it on KAOS 89.3 FM (or at kaosradio.org). The show is co-hosted by my fiancee, Merwyn. (We're finally getting married this April 11th!)
Music is definitely way up there on my list of favorite things. In 2008 I was lucky enough to help out with the formation of an awesome radio promotions group called Lucky Cat Promotions. Although it's a little harder for me to contribute these days, I still encourage you to check out their page in my Top Friends list! There's a great (and growing) list of clients. (Feel free to write me if you're interested in becoming one.)
Besides listening to and sharing music, my favorite thing is to go out of town. I love "big cities" but I'm curious to go just about everywhere! One of these days, I'd also like to try writing a book. Possibly about my experience with breast cancer (I was originally diagnosed in November of 2006, killed the beast, then it came back to my spine in December of 2008; I'm in the process of killing it again!) or maybe based on a true crime story, or who knows what ... the possibilities are endless.
Who I'd like to meet: Music geeks. Comics. Positive people who aren't in denial about the fact that everyone is human and that everyone has ups and downs. Anyone with a quirky sense of humor; anyone who is honest and compassionate. Basically anyone! (No hypocrites, narcissists, or bullies, please.)

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Wish I could say I did something interesting to celebrate but I really didn't. I guess the older I get the less important my birthday is to me. How have you been? Thanks again.
