I don't want to speak "third person" about me so here it goes:
1966 Born in Windsor, Ontario Canada from an x-treme traditional Albanian family upbringing. Moved to Clearwater, Florida when I was two. Several of my cousins and I Listened to KISS when we were around 5-8 years of age. That ruined me! I wanted to be like the Space Ace Frehley! I wanted a guitar since I was 8, I got into skateboarding really heavy with some older dudes until I won 2nd place in a local contest and my skateboard friends stopped hanging out with me. By then I was 12 and got really tired of getting banged up. It was better because the folks got me a Global acoustic from Sears!!!. I took lessons from a great local jazz guitarist for about two weeks and decided that my ear would take me where I wanted to go.
When I was 14, I had an offer to play bass for a band that was going to play at the first Clearwater Jazz Festival. I got the gig and The band was called The Kurt Machler Jazz Combo. I was ruined again! Music was a major part of my life! Got into a high school band named EMANON (no-name backwards) At 16 I had an accident which rendered my pinky (fretting finger) broken and locked-up the main joint,(by the way, I Love Chris Poland's playing!) I realized then that theory was the "open door" I learned from many of the 70's and 80's style guitarists like....., IOMMI, BLACKMORE, DIMEOLA, CLAPTON, BECK, PAGE,LIFESON, HALEN, HOLDSWORTH, RHODES, LETEKRO, VAI, SATRIANI, MALMSTEEN. At 20 and 4 years into the injury I could pull-off some Ingwie stuff but got tired of the pain associated with a bad fretting finger and quit the band I was in and started playing left handed. Starting over sucks! I had enough money to get my first car, 1981 Z28 CAMARO, I was a motor head! through time I have had a 1987 Mitsubishi Starion, 1988 Rx7 Turbo II, and still have a 1987 Buick Grand National. (all modified of course!) My perspective of cars are just like guitars: power, control, finesse and beauty. Playing lefty for two years I got into a progressive rock band called Legacy in 1988.lt was an original project. We would finish our original set with me playing a "right handed" version of Carry on the Wayward Sun by Kansas. (people freaked!) The band broke up after stupid issues and I lost hope in a cohesive musical outfit. After all that I didn't put as much "steam" into my lefty playing because of having a life....,school, work, girlfriend etc. Still working with other musicians and various musical projects, I had my pinky operated on at 28 and I have 35% more mobility in my finger. (big deal! Now I call it FRANKENPINKY because of scars) I prefer lefty since my minds-eye view of the neck now is lefty. Got married at 32, had two wonderful children (that I could never replace) and unfortunately got divorced. I still have a day job since music never paid my bills. (someday i hope) I Since then I have been playing as much as I can and I LOVE it! I'm playing with several different projects most notably the Big Bang Method. I hope you can check some of that stuff out. I can also be a "hired gun" for specific projects...,
stay real and GODSPEED!
