    UK drummer Will Eglington and German guitarist Axel Rieke—both veterans of California's The Silencers—formed Neon Anyway in 2006, with Polish-born bassist Art Lesniak filling out the rhythm section. Their sound exploded with the driving musical urgency once found only in the beer-soaked and electrified punk clubs of the late 1970's. Jocelyn Ryder, a singer, songwriter and musician who cut her teeth in New York City's anti-folk scene, joined the band on lead vocals in mid-2009. San Francisco music writer David Smay says Jocelyn "…sings like the sweetheart of the rodeo in steel-toed Doc Martins… She's punker than you'll ever be." She has eschewed guitar playing to focus on the full-throttle impact of her powerful voice and charismatic-cool delivery. Today, Neon Anyway move audiences with a melodic heaviness inspired by old and new Brit pop and classic punk rock, leavened with hooks, and delivered with audacious honesty.
