"Beautifully written, the whole album is akin to flying over the
courtyard in that hot air moon balloon depicted on the cover; a
wonderful journey that's a lot of fun." - Motif Magazine
“… with sincere, witty, and silly lyrics, it's easy to see that this band has potential to charm its way into each and every heart (and onto each and every iPod playlist)”

Neo Nouveau is three friends who have played rock music together in Providence for the past five years. Membership is comprised of the fragments of other talented Providence area groups, old and new (holiday., The Quiet Turnaround, Johnny Lingo Band, and Cowgirl). The catchy songwriting of DosRemedios, bass melodies of Valliere, and relentless drumming intensity of Leonard add up to a standard trio banging out unique results.
The sophomore album Courtyard reflects the finest studio work to date of any of the three musicians. Recorded on wintry nights and days with Jon Downs of The Brother Kite (engineer, producer) the songs sound fresh, potent, and urgent in a way that Neo Nouveau’s debut, The Forks & Knives (2006), could not. Perhaps some of the credit goes to their “less is more” writing and recording philosophy, necessitated by the departure of previous Neo Nouveau bandleader and lead guitarist/effects man Dylan Ryder. Ryder’s departure for a Peace Corps stint in Western Samoa inspired the band to experiment as a trio for four months prior to recording Courtyard. The resulting songs speak for themselves. On this tight little album, ambition, pain, love, sadness, hope, and expression for expression’s sake are the main themes you’ll hear.
Want to catch them live? Check the myspace for details on just a few select CD release engagements. Neo Nouveau likes the idea of going out in style with this record. The band has unofficially hung up their spurs with Courtyard and plans on spending more time with family, friends, careers in education and various musical side projects.

Is "My Father's Best Friend's Daughter" (I believe is he title... I've only had it shouted at me in dark, loud places) on this album?
Also that one with the killer bassline? You know what I'm talking about, right? I can't remember the words, last I heard it was over a year ago at Century Lounge.
Anyway--kick. ass. Please have a release party now or soon.
Also, would you be interested in playing at RWU next spring? I have a few more connections this year and the radio station sponsors a concert... so yeah.
