The Neon Soul Cabaret is set as if it were a Felinni film with an afro-beat soundtrack in the midst of Trinidadian Carnival on 125th St in Harlem. The Neon Soul Collective plays as a part of the festivities. The collective is a group of artists committed to developing a unique and multi-dimensional sound “rooted” in the cultural traditions of the African Diaspora. In the spirit of honoring these traditions, this ensemble explores the notions of genre and time by juxtaposing new sounds with old ones. Most importantly, the Neon Soul Cabaret presents an amalgamation of all the musical forms of the African Diaspora that patrons engage with Monday through Friday in the Xxodus Café.

The ultimate goal of the Neon Soul Collective is to bring live music to the Xxodus Café that is rooted across the nations of the African Diaspora (Africa's descendants abroad). These sounds, from the US, Brazil, Trinidad, Haiti, Nigeria, the UK and Jamaica among others, form the foundation for an electric array of genres presented by Black Rep.

I finally finished up a project I have been working on closely with my homie DJ Trippin' over the past few months. The idea was to take a handful of my freestyles, studio tracks, and b-sides I've recorded over the last year and combine them all to a 1 track mix. All mixing, scratching, and juggling was performed by DJ Trippin'. The effort is available for high quality download by clicking the cover below!
