About me:

N.E.O.Vik is composed of people interested using living history to research aspects of life in Northern Europe during the Viking Age. This is accomplished through workshops where the focus is on developing traditional skills as we create accurate replicas of period artifacts. Our historic events are centered on the 'camp' known as Vulksgaard, where the activities revolve around 'daily life' and the interaction

"Vikings" refer to the people of Scandinavia during the Viking age. The Viking age spans from the sacking of Lindisfarne, England in 793 AD to the battle of Stamford Bridge, England in 1066 AD. Scandinavia includes Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Greenland. Viking age studies also include regions the Vikings conquered and ruled, such as eastern England and the surrounding islands. Vikings were a very progressive and literate people. Their primary professions were farmers, merchants or traders, and raiding.

We as a Living History Re-enactment study military, social and cultural history of a group of people from the past. Some of our studies include textiles, cooking, weaponry, fighting styles, sewing, crafts and much, much more. Such information is based on historical and archeological research.

The object of the North East Ohio Vikings is to educate, promote, encourage and aid in the study of science, history, art, music and other interests associated with the Viking age.
