In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. They promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Seattle underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no-one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the Nepotistas.
The Nepotistas are a Seattle-based group of professional musicians and music educators dedicated to being professional musicians and music educators. Featuring an unusual combination of instruments (vibes, organ, Guitar, and drums) the music is both modern and vintage-sounding, with material ranging from 'Freedom Jazz Dance' to D'Angelo's 'Spanish Joint', as well as countless originals. Nathan Spicer-Organ, Jacques Willis- Vibes, Ivo- Drums, Paul Fischer- Guitar.

Here's a review of the band from the infamous Dennis Cook of Jambase.com: A touch too punchy to make the morning offerings, I stumbled in and got WOKE THE FUCK UP by Big High, a local hard rock ensemble and friends to Flowmotion that struck a first impression akin to my first mind-blowing Drunk Horse gig. Like Oakland's steel-plated punk-boogie juggernaut, Big High aren't screwing around and it wasn't a whole tune before I was shaking like a madman close to the stage. Killer tunes, a crazy tight band and a lead singer (Mesa on "vocal flyfishing") possessed of a fathomless bottom and high reachin' top end plus a leaping, fiercely engaging stage presence, and well Big High sorta rocked my widdle world. It's serious heavy muscle that puts a lil' anger and sex in your bloodstream, culminating in a frighteningly good cover of The Who's "Baba O'Riley" delivered in Dr. John style feather masks for no good reason except to be delightfully weird. If you're feeling Clutch, Parlor Mob or just dig quality hard rock you're missing out if you don't get to know Big High. At the end of their set I bellowed, quite uncontrollably, "We're awake now, motherfuckers!" Meant it, too. -- Dennis Cook--www.jambase.com www.myspace.com/bighighmusic BIG HIGH is also on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/BIG-HIGH/134022157365?ref=nf High Dive www.highdiveseattle.com 513 N 36th St # G Seattle, WA 98103-8693 (206) 632-0212 &

With a diverse array of influences, Seattle-based Shai PoeNt (lyricist) and Vanessa Stone (vocalist), cogitatively expand the canon of their artistic liberation. Drawn to hip-hop, jazz, rock, funk, house, and trance, the duo deliberately tease out every strand of their experiences and turns them into something others can relate to.
Danny Massure's latest release 'Put It On Me' brings the sounds of acid jazz to the club. The fresh sound is due in part to the featured Seattle funk masters Tracy Ferrara on sax, Jeff Conlin on keys, Jason Graczyk on guitar and Matt Reid on trumpet. The funk gets flipped by remixers BadboE, Jayl Funk, The Breakbeat Junkie and Omegaman.
For those who haven't heard, we'll be in the studio these next few months to record a new album with the renowned reggae singer, Eyon Irie. After that it's summer shows and writing songs for the next Orbits album!
In the meantime, if you don't have our self-titled cd yet, you can still pick it up on CD Baby and Itunes. Or you can get it and other Orbits gear directly from us here:
