Formed in the city of Hollywood, California, in 2006, the dynamic and colossal sound of Neptune’s Favor is driven by the raw aggression of rock and a strong sense of melody. Powerful vocals with memorable lyrics and solid hooks enhance and embellish the music’s intensity, presence, and stature. The band draws their influence from a wide range of classic alternative rock bands such as Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins, Concrete Blonde, and Foo Fighters. In keeping with the tradition of these bands and rock’s timeless in-your-face attitude, Neptune’s Favor plays their music like they mean it. Jumping, swaying, grooving, beating their instruments into submission, all four members work up an on-stage musical frenzy that excites and captivates their audience.
After playing numerous shows in the Los Angeles and Hollywood area with various sit-in drummers, from late 2006 to early 2007, Neptune’s Favor solidified the position in March 2007 and immediately forged ahead bringing their bold and energetic act to clubs such as 14 Below (Santa Monica), Safari Sam’s (Hollywood), The Knitting Factory (Hollywood), Mr. T’s Bowl (Los Angeles), Club Good Hurt (West Los Angeles), Zen Sushi (Silverlake), The Cat Club (Hollywood), Relax Bar (Hollywood), The Airliner (Los Angeles), and an April residency at the Kibitz Room (Los Angeles).
With a firm identity and a clear sense of direction, Neptune’s Favor set out to record their first self-titled EP in October of 2007. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Will Kennedy (Black Kites, The Russians), the four song EP asserts the band’s mean and gritty sonic approach. From the explosiveness of the opening anthem-like track, “Emergency,” to the forceful burst of “Static” to the driving and dynamic “Sleeping Here” and the celebratory feel of “May,” Neptune’s Favor truly captures the backbone and passion of a band always resolute in defining what it means to rock.
After a West Coast tour in the summer of 2008 which included cities like Seattle, Portland, Olympia, San Diego, San Francisco and more, Neptune's Favor reached a transitional point as old members left and new ones joined the band. Songwriter and founding member Debbie Little decided to continue on and lead this new evolution of Neptune's Favor into the future. As Neptune’s Favor plunges into 2009, the band is ready to take on the LA rock scene and transform their music into a new sound.
