I like making things... All sorts of things and pretty much all of the time if I could manage it. You can see some of the stuff I've made at my website: www.nerfect.com. I am truly happiest when I'm hunched over my drawing table working.
I also enjoy hitting the road and getting out of Stinktown. I don't need much, just a backpack and a place to crash for the night. Travel is one of life's simple pleasures. Sure, the getting there might be tough at times, but being somewhere new and experiencing new cultures is definitely worth the effort.
Music
I'm really into y'know japanese funk. i think Prince is the future. I'm kinda into that funky hip pop jam thing... But, seriously folks, my musical tastes tend to run a bit on the eclectic side... Reggae to country, 'sixties soul to punk, and beyond. Are there any lawyers in the audience tonight?
Movies
Ideally, I like to watch the finest works of cinema, those which make you think and move you emotionally. However, usually, I end up watching a lot of horrible schlock, but if you have an open mind you can find beauty everywhere.
Television
Yes, I watch television. Not all day, but enough to understand the concepts. I watch very few programs on their first run. If a show has merit (or is from another country) I tend to catch up with it on DVD.
I watch a lot of old reruns. There is a station here in Chicago that shows nothing, but the classics. An evening is not complete without watching Sanford and Son.
If there was a station that played nothing but "Streets of San Francisco" I would never leave my house.
Books
Contrary to popular belief, I read more than comic books and old men's magazines with stories about unshaven guys duking it out with Grizzly bears. I have a short commute into Chicago, so I am in constant need of new books to read... Please send suggestions.
I tend to read a lot of non-fiction (science, history, biographies, etc.), but I really love a good bit of fiction when I come across it. Seriously, send me those suggestions.
Heroes
You know if I had a hot jazz combo or a DJ with mad skills backing me up I'd be throwing out a truckload of shout outs, but as it is I will just have to sum it up another way. The writing on the file tab on my heoes folder might read, "Those who sacrificed what they had to in order to unleased their creative vision onto the world without taking crap from anyone."
About me:
I'm like this guy who draws these goofy things and then puts them up on my web site. I make my green as a graphic designer for an advertising agency here in Chicago, and I am completely non-fictional. Word and such.
Here is a sticker of a bear eating a hot dog that I made just for you!
If that wasn't cool enough, here is an image of the cover to my latest comic book, Tales of The Danged...
You can find out more about it and order a copy at www.nerfect.com.
By the way, I also serve as an administrator of the daily strange video blog, OW! MY SWEET EYES! If you like things that are so bad that they’re good, you should check it out.
Who I'd like to meet: A man who can turn his head into a plate of fried chicken and mashed potatoes. That would be kind of cool.
Oh yes, and I also like to meet... ..>
...Weng Weng! The bad ass so nice they named him twice!
