Interests

  • General

Aside from networking and building my business I love to spend time with the people who are close to me. Alot of my time is spent training for and competing in Triathlons. I prefer the longer distance competitions, i.e, Ironman, 2.5mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run....one after the other. If this can be completed then surely anything is possible.
  • Music

Pumping music that gets you going and up for the challenge. All time favourite? Eye of the tiger has got me through many a tough bike ride.
  • Movies

Guardian, Ice Age and Borat. High Five! My favourite watch has to be The Secret.
  • Television

Dont watch TV, its full of negatives and the exact type of dream stealing people that i want to escape from in the normal 9-5 working life
  • Books

4hr work week is a favourite of mine, Generally anything from Robert Kiyasaki and the Rich Dad series. Who moved my cheese, Magnetic Sponsoring from a certain Mr Dillard. Chris moyles books are awesome aswell, i love his no nonsense style and tells it how it is.

Hi, my name is Ewan Robb the reason I started this MySpace profile is because I was sick fed up of trying to build my Downline in my MLM Home Based Business.  I tried everything, including handing out thousands of flyers per day along with many other 'Old School' methods of Lead Gen .  I really didnt mind putting in all the effort as i have been raised a hardworking young lad as you will find out later.  I wasnt really getting the results i was looking for and knew i couldnt really attract other people into my business as it was not very enticing.  That is why I started my own Internet business online.  I created this MySpace profile because I want to meet, network and give back to other newbie entrepreneurs who are in the same situation just like I was... and hopefully my story can help inspire you to discover a better alternative just like I have.  If you are anything like me... you love the Internet and making money.  I'll explain how I combined the two and am changing my life, but first let me tell you a little about myself.

My Background

Three months ago I bought my 1st house in a little seaside town called Stonehaven near Aberdeen, prior to that my life has been pretty much a mixed bag really.  My mum and Dad split up when i was around 1 and i was brought up with my mum and visited my dad every weekend, he worked long hours on a farm so it was mainly my Granny and Granda i was visiting.  I was bullied at school for for around 2 years untill i plucked up the courage to stand up for myself and battered the guy 1 day while we played football, we later became the best of mates......funny that.  When i was 7 my mum met a new man, soon to become my step dad.  He was in the military and soon we were moving around all over the place, meeting new people and living in new countries, visiting my dad during school holidays.

I think this period was a real learning phase and set me up well for life.  Being a great football player earned me instant respect so i had no problem starting in new schools, every 12-14 months.  I was never a bad kid however i did carry on quite alot and was always at the centre of the hilarity, a loveable rogue you could say.  My mischievous nature got me thrown out of a few schools and eventually my mum had enough and i was sent to live with my dad on the farm, i was 13 at this stage and we were living in Northern Ireland, i was devastated i was being sent back to Scotland as me and my girlfriend at the time were planning to get married :) At this point everyone was telling me that it was a matter of time before i became a pro footballer so i didnt think my messing around in school was going to matter.  As time went by, living with my dad, i became more interested in the farm and was working there at nights and weekend.  I had stopped playing so much football and was skiving school to work on the farm, this was now the career path i was going to follow.  At the age of 15 i was thrown out of school (again) and did not get to sit any of my exams and set about my fulltime career on the farm.

A few years had gone by and my mum and step dad had come out of the Army and were living close. I started spending more time their and realised i was working double the time my stepdad was and he was getting double the money.  I was working 14-18 hours per day and 7 days per week.  My biggest week was 147 hours.  This wasnt the career path i wanted to follow.  What else could i do, i dropped out of school with no grades.  Follow my stepdad and join the Army.  I joined and did some of my basic training, running around with guns was not for me, i returned home and was back on the farm the next day.  Back into long hours and standing in the kitchen almost in tears talking to my mum about what i could do with my life, we came up with my other love, Football, i had started playing again but the busy farm life limited this and i could hardly train or play for that matter.  2 months later i was in college doing an HND in Sports Coaching.

This was where i was introduced to computers, i couldnt even turn the dam thing on, i was borrowing disks from the clever people and saving their work and changing the name, there was once i forgot and managed to spin a story and get myself out of that hole. :) I passed with merit and scooped a job with Aberdeen FC. This seen out the next few years but was becoming very repetitive and was again working 14 hr days for very little money and no prospects.  By this time i was playing at a high level of football again.  Getting injured led me to the clubs physio and a whole 8 months of visiting him with torn stomach muscles saw us becoming great friends and told me of this Home based business he was doing and people were becoming millionaires. Looking for a way out i jumped straight in to the promises of training and the belief i was gonna live my dreams.

The MLM years

So there i was at my 1st training event, everyone clapping, singing and dancing (i thought to myself 1 halleluya, and im gone) All these people were just normal people like me but were earning 2, 6, 10 right up to 70k per month. I was amazed and convinced this was it, my dreams were gonna come true.  On the motorway on the way home i called all my close friends and told them they need to do this, i was gonna become a millionaire.  Not 1 of them joined my business.

I was getting quite good results and turning over some product however, the 2 things i joined for were

1) more money

2) more time

I was spending more than i was making and was putting in more hours than ever. I believed in good old hard work and that if i kept doing the work then it would come. They said its a numbers game, just keep going, the only way you can fail is to quit.  3 years in and i was making around the same as i was in my job but not really enough to get people excited. I learned alot of great stuff from my mentor (now one of my best friends) but the 1 thing nobody knew was how to market.  We were all doing "old school" methods, you know, pitching family, handing out flyers, spending hours on the phone. I was wasting tme trying to get the people who were close to me to join my business instead of spending time with people who actually wanted to be in business. None of which were very appealing to new people coming into the business. I was what i now call a "busy idiot" - always busy making no money. I knew networking was the was forward but their had to be a better way, an easier way.  I had become really good friends with another person in the MLM trade who was having the same frustrations as myself. He had been doing some reasearch and spoke to me about some interesting things he had came across on the net.  The philosophy of doing your business without all of the old school methods, no selling to your friends and family, no standing in the rain and snow handing out flyers, no knocking on doors, no spending hours on the phone to people who could hardly wipe their own nose never mind run a business.

I threw myself into the world of internet marketing and everything changed forever. I had always thought MySpace was only for little kids...but many training videos along with other web 2.0 strategies I learned from some of the top Internet authorities completely opened my eyes.  Now I see that,  yeah...you really can get free *targeted* leads who are excellent prospects for your business using MySpace.  Cause c'mon, lets face it...if you are reading this right now...isn't this the exact same way you found me?  See what I mean...MySpace marketing really works!!!  In fact I now know that these web 2.0 strategies are extremely effective.  More importantly they are very easy to learn and apply.....if you have the right leader to show you how to implement them!!!

Who I'd like to meet:

I am very keen to meet people who have the motivation to change and improve their personal cirumstances.  Especially those who may be new to the world of Network marketing, MLM or Internet marketing.  Would aslo like to meet and network with experienced MLMers but who are finding the Internet and web 2.0 an uphill struggle.   I hope that my experiences can help you in some way to find your way through the 'maze' so you can find the same success as I have. These Are People I DONT Want to Meet!

Whiners
Complainers
Procrastinators
Lazy People
Know-It-Alls

And I loathe EXCUSES!

I don't want to meet people who have lots of excuses for almost everything that they didn't accomplish in their life... People with excuses why their life isn’t working!

Your life is a result of your DECISIONS and ACTIONS... Not your CIRCUMSTANCES!
