"...N.E.T. challenge the senses somewhat with their rather angular but not totally obtuse style. In essence N.E.T.'s music is blessedly uncomplicated but tantalisingly jagged, sharp edged and vital. Preferring the mildly staccato route rather than the more obviously slick and smooth approach, N.E.T. deliver a surprisingly beefy but not over-fiery take on the genre...."
"...I'm not actually sure how N.E.T. manage it but their music seems to kinda stick in yer head and begs to be re-played. N.E.T. don't do obvious, N.E.T. don't do every-day, listening to N.E.T. is like taking a rollercoaster ride through a darkened tunnel where all is not what it initially seemed to be. As the undulating, rolling ride into the unknown unfolds N.E.T. start to become the force they really are..."
“It sounds like someone is having to drag the melodies out of the guitars but when they eventually emerge they arrive perfectly formed, if a little grumpy. Bafflingly good.”
"...The three songs on this release demonstrate Dima’s skill with his axe, but they also show his genuine love of rock and/or roll.
I Will Wait benefits from strong bass lines and pounding drums that sit well with Dima's vocals (sounding like a cross between Marc Bolan and a young David Bowie), which drift across well directed tunes, while I’m With You feels like a slightly psychedelic and drowsy version of a song by the (best of The) Who ..."
"...As a live band N.E.T. expand into a three-piece group but on record it’s very much the work of one man. so hats off to Dima because on the three track single I Will Wait he’s put down a good solid marker and should hopefully go on from here to have a decent level of success."
“There is no true love” say those who never searched for it. “True rock’n’roll is dead” say those who lost it. The story of the N.E.T. starts from fragile friendship between love and rock’n’roll. This friendship survived through hardships of time, as the first N.E.T.’s live performance happened in the year 2001. Since then, the band’s frontman Dima continues to search, find and fuse new chemical components in his music, and in the sound of the musicians he is destined to work with.
“After many gigs and recordings with other bands and projects, such as The Wow Signal, Penny Foster, etc., where I acted as a bass player and co-composer, I decided to give N.E.T. another shot” - Dima
So now after a number of ups and downs, after some silence, it is time again to knock on Your door and say a warm “Hello!”
Currently, Dima is located in London and has different band members. People with contrasting backgrounds and from different parts of UK and the rest of the World united by one idea.
The best way to be introduced to N.E.T. is to see them play live. There will be more than enough to listen to and to look at, as well as to remember and to discuss afterwards. If you have a chance to experience the band live, you won’t leave empty inside, as there is plenty of positive energy from the musicians for everyone. The new single is due to be released in early spring, and contains three songs which will introduce you to N.E.T. These songs were produced by Dima and recorded at London’s Screamrec Studio. And this is just a tiny drop from all the band’s rich material. There is no point to endlessly talk about hooky guitar riffs, groovy bass lines and tight drums. It’s better to listen to them first, and then decide for yourself how honest and complete this music is.
We wish you a very pleasant listen and sincerity in feelings on this very strange day.
"blending low-level hip-hop beats with Scorn-esque bass and elonated guitar riffs to remarkable effect. . . it's that awesome. . . the music is superb, the artwork and packaging equally good. . . [it's] warped shuffling genius. 300% necro, foo'! (5/5)" (Zero Tolerance magazine).
