MY LIFE STORY SO FAR:
I LIVE AND DIE FOR ROCK N ROLL.
I was born,10th of november 1964 in
istanbul,turkey.That makes me a scorpio.I am mixed;Albanian,Greek,and Romanian descendant.My father was working in Mobil
and he had a job offer from Columbus,Ohio,USA when i was
three years old but instead my family moved to
Mersin and then Ankara,where i
attended TED Ankara College.Then my
family moved to istanbul again.
I started playing guitar and listening
to rock music when i was about 13 years
old.I went to USA in 1982,then attended
G.I.T. Summer Course in Hollywood California.
But my family fooled me and tricked me
and made me believe that there was rock music
in turkey so i moved back to istanbul in 1982
from Los Angeles.That was the end of my life as
i know it.Then i attempted to move to England many
times during the eighties with no luck,
till i met my wife Penelope in 1989,while
playing in a bar in istanbul.We got
married in january 1990 and moved to
London.Times were late for hard rock so
i missed the boat so to speak,forming
Fire and Rain with Sid Anwar on vocals
and Rob Tedaldi on bass.We gigged in and
around London played at the marquee,
wag club,rock garden,limehouse,royal standard,
borderline,ruskin arms,Swan,George Robey,gosspis,
and other places, between 1992 and 1994 with
no chance of getting a major record deal
-that was what it was all about during
those days- due to the fact that grunge
killed all rock music.
I disbanded Fire and Rain in 1994.
i had a
divorce and went
back to istanbul for a while.but after
that i couldn t find enough money to
move back to London till this day.
During my time in turkey,i got involved with
metaphysics;i am a reiki master,i do
raj yoga and TM meditation and a proud member
of world brotherhood union.
i also played with lots of people and bands,
not worth mentioning,but i mention anyway,
including;pentagram(mezarkabul),erkin koray,
bulutsuzluk özlemi,ogün sanlısoy,diken,reflex,
barlas and alper erinç,kudret kurtcebe,teoman,
mirage,murat çekem,murat pazar and others.
and i made three albums which i plan to
re record again and release when i have
the oppotunity financially when i move
abroad.
I looked after my grandmother in istanbul
and stopped playing for four years.After
she died i moved back to ankara in 2008.
2008 was a fruitful year for me,i got to
play with JOE LYNN TURNER(ex DEEP PURPLE)
at an event in istanbul.I also opened
for DEF LEPPARD and WHITESNAKE at the MASSTIVAL
FESTIVAL in istanbul.
I worked in televison with kids,coaching
them and being a musical director in 2009,
in a TV competition called "GENÇ MİKROFON".
At the moment i am STUCK in Ankara,
playing bars and giving guitar lessons and
WAITING for the days WITH PATIENCE,FAITH,WILLPOWER
and DICIPLINE,the days that i will move abroad
and make albums and tour the world.HAVE GUITAR WILL TRAVEL.I am also open to any offers around the world as a guitarist or a bassist in any band situation,any situation that will save me from here.
