Our Audience! Some suggestions for your comfort:
We're going to try to find more room for next time...
we've been coming up with some advice though for comfort on the night -
1. We will try to have some seating but due to the intimate nature of the gorgeous Voodoo Rooms too many seats means not enough bodies. If you have a physical requirement for a seat please let us know and we will do our best to reserve one for you. Also as always getting there early means you have more of a chance of getting a seat.
2. Wear your prettiest comfy shoes so that you can dance all night and not get sore footsies (though we do recommend asking the person next to you to give you a foot massage if you do)!
3. We will try to keep the back of the room as free-flowing as possible so that you can move into the other bar spaces if you need a drink and a wee sit down... there's lots to explore. You can help us with this by standing and dancing or sitting in chairs as much as possible rather than sitting on the floor which has a tendency to squish folks at the back. Again we will try to arrange what seating we can fit in in such a way that it is more conducive to free-flowing movement and comfort. We so want all our Neue Lieblings to be happy and comfortable but also want to let as many of you in to love Neue and our beautiful artists as we can! Thank you so much, you are lovely.

NEWS! NEWS!! NEWS!!!
Neue Liebe (New Love) is the sparkling new brain child from four of Edinburgh's most lustrous cabaret producers. Acting as a platform for the quirky arty sexy and fun, this original and modern day cabaret is a delight for the senses. The intimate Voodoo Rooms is the perfect venue for the event, with the private bar buzzing and a general sense of excitement throughout... By partnering more traditional forms of burlesque (from The Academy of Burlesque) alongside modern comedians, quirky musicians, and a hint of politics, the New Love presents a full bodied and sexy night out.
The Skinny
Cabaret is kicking and screaming its way back into the limelight in an explosion of sequins, suspender belts, sultry song and striptease…With poets, singers, acrobats, fire dancers, clowns, burlesque girls and musicians all on display, it is not hard to see why many are welcoming an evening with so much variety on offer.
Edinburgh Evening News
Pulling together a host of well-meaning, spiffily-clad and shamelessly talented Edinburgh bohemian types in the brand new surroundings of the Voodoo Rooms, Neue Liebe…is back.

"WHY STAND UP ?
I've been mucking about at the edges of stand up for years and it seemed more honest to go all the way. And it's certainly not boring. Plus comedy used to be most of what got me through and for various reasons I now have no other access to it. Standing near people who are laughing is a close as I get. And, when it goes well, it does feel very, very, very good in a way that makes you want more. You make something nice happen for the nice ladies and gentlemen and they make something nice happen even more and round and round you go – all very immediate and alive. The jury’s out on how one use of words will affect all of the other uses of words."

Digital Jones
http://www.myspace.com/digitaljones
Digital Jones is a couple of peeps doing loud, electronic, sexy, funky, musically omnivorous sound things. Composed of multi-instrumentalist producer - bass/keys/sampler artist, Phil McBride and the room-filling tenor of Nikki Kent's soulful, sultry voice, there live sound is difficult to pin down, but might read something like retrofuturist-broken-sexy-soul-frunk. Just as happy to rock a dance floor with jacked-up, latin-flavored electro-house beats as they are with glitched-up, live broken beats and 70's synthesizer soul, Digital Jones combine their musical influences into a sound that is unique in the UK, simultaneously familiar and ahead of the curve. This is a group making music for the future; and that future is here in the present looking backward to the past for signs of the past future that are still presently futuristic, but also retro in a kind of forward-thinking way. Seen ? Digital Jones is what happens when people understand that good music is all about being tight as f*! AND behind the beat; blatantly futurist AND shamelessly retro; jump up AND get down; Just Wrong AND Come Correct; Edinburgh AND Detroit; Digital Jones is dirty beats played so fresh and so clean. Believe.

When I was younger I wrote a book about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I found it recently and to my surprise I wanted to be a Red Indian woman, complete with ti-pi, papoose and rather ambitiously a child. Shortly after I wrote that book I ran away from home with a type writer and two mince pies. The plan being to write stories for a living. I waited for the next bus and asked to go to the swimming pool in a neighbouring town. Much to my surprise, at the time, short stories (regardless of their quality) don't seem to get you very far in this world. A cruel blow. As I have grown older I have learned many hard lessons such as this. And am still not a Red Indian Woman...I've been very lucky to play with the following people: Hawk And A Hacksaw, Jack Rose, Chris Corsano, Alasdair Roberts, The Fence Collective, Viking Moses and the wonderful people from Fife Kills.

Four of Edinburgh’s premiere cabaret producers, Aneke McCulloch (Vaudeville), Paul Keene (Cabaret Marlne), JL Williams (SiLENCiO) and Neue! Emma Collins mingle forces to serve up Neue Liebe (in German, New Love)— cabaret as it was meant to be for the future we are living in.
Inspired by the cabaret of the Weimar Republic (1919-1933 Germany), Neue Liebe is a place where both audience and performers can express themselves and explore beyond assumed boundaries of society, culture, philosophy, politics, art, love…
With a classy and politically sophisticated concoction of poets, singers, dancers, clowns, puppets, comedians, burlesque girls, musicians and more, the evening is guaranteed to intrigue, titillate and unhinge rusty cabinets in the mind and Pandora's boxes of the heart.

Manchester's Amida have been compared to both the Pixies and the Magnetic Fields - due in part to their ability to wrench catchy pop from dark subject matter. This is exemplified on their debut mini-album 'Arts and Crafts' which, rattling through six tracks in under 13 minutes, has been described as "a masterclass in pop economy".
Pushing shiny pop hooks to a lo-fi aesthetic, the Just Joans create tales of heartache and teenage longing in small town Caledonia. Is This Music described their debut album (Last Tango In Motherwell) as "frankly staggering", and probably the best album of that year. This was followed by two mini-albums on the rather lovely Wee POP label: Virgin Lips and Hey Boy, You're So Sensitive.
The Occasional Flickers' main songwriter Giorgos Bouras recorded debut album 'Scattered Songs' in his native Greece. But it wasn't until he relocated to Greece and put together a new live band that the music truly felt at home. Imbued with the lyrical wit of Belle and Sebastian, but delivered in the off hand style of the Pastels - they're the best Scottish pop band to ever come out of Greece. Or maybe the best Greek pop band in Scotland. Either way, they're not to be missed.
